Each can holds about nine oysters the size of your thumb. You taste the smoke, but the oyster is still the star. The texture is firm, not mushy. The oil doesn't detract from the flavor of the oysters at all. I even sop up the leftover oil with bread because it's so flavorful, or if I'm feeling generous, give it to the dog who loves it as well.

Health & Personal Care : Reese Colossal Smoked Oysters, 3.7-Ounce, 10-Count Cans

These Oysters are amongst the best canned Oysters I've ever tried. My overall impression of them is that they were fresh, firm, and not loaded with additives or cheap oil. The smoke flavor is mild (which is a good thing).
As for Colossal, I suppose they are compared to other canned Oysters that are more like eating barnicals off fishing pier post.
These Oysters are about the size of a very large table grape and I do recommend them to Oyster lovers that don't have access to fresh ones.

I ordered a case of these Crown Prince Smoked Oysters in cottonseed oil because I have found Crown Prince to have excellent products, especially their wild caught canned salmon from Alaska.

These are some of the worst canned oysters I have ever eaten. If you have ever purchased oysters at a $1.00 store you will know what I mean. The oysters are tiny like barnacles and mealy and mushy with hardly anything resembling a smoked flavor. I was surprised to see they were produced in China because their other products are from Alaska and other places. I happen to love canned oysters and I don't mind if they are small, but not if they are just mealy with an odd flavor. The Reese colossals oysters and others from other companies in olive oil are delicious and they obviously know how to ... Read More

So I decided to buy a case of these smoked ones. I am a HUGE fan of Amazon grocery. I live out in the sticks and with Amazon prime I can get groceries delivered to my door quicker than I can get them from town cuz I just sit there. The doorbell rings and VOILA! It's lunchtime. I have been satisfied with every single product I have gotten through Amazon grocery (until now). It was probably a fluke but these oysters taste a bit long in the can?? Metallic. I don't taste the ocean. I think they were near their expiration date. OH well. I still love Amazon grocery and I'll keep those orders coming. Does anybody want some oysters?!
