This product is cheaper than in stores or other brands. The flavor is tangy. I use it in all of my cheese replacements and soups for nutrition and a tangy chicken flavor replacement.

This starter makes delicious yogurt. I like to use it with whole milk. You must first heat the milk up to at least 180 degrees and then cool it to 73-77 degrees. As the previous reviewer stated, you must use an icewater bath to cool the milk down. This works wonderfully. I let my yogurt incubate 15 hours and it is extremely thick and delicious! It has a bit of a tart taste, which is very yummy. I alternate using this yogurt with the Yogourmet freeze-dried yogurt for variety. I eat yogurt every single day and have been using Yogourmet starters for a couple of years now. I won't use any other brand as I've tried several and the ones from Yogourmet are the best.

I was looking for bulk yeast and this was the first thing that came up. I knew I was going to get a lot of yeast but I didn't really stop to think how much yeast 64oz really is. Long story short: a lot! After giving about half of it away I've still got months worth of yeast lurking around my fridge taking up space. On the plus side 8oz bags are a nice workable amount. Having it packaged up in smaller bits made it easy to give away to friends and makes it easier to store.

Absolutely everything. Well, darned near. This is my favorite yeast, not least because it is so forgiving. It will rise in a warm oven no matter how humid the summer or how cold the winter. It isn't overwhelmed by complex recipes. It works in simple breads and fancy ones - I'm currently into a cranberry walnut [no poolish, starter, sponge, biga needed] that would be the star of any brunch. It makes wonderful cinnamon buns, pizza dough, flax, sesame seed, sunflower seed rolls. Yeast, what is it good for? The tasty things in life.

I've seen some people compare this to soya sauce, I would say it's savoury sort of like soya sauce but I can't say it tastes anything like soya sauce. Delicious and nutritious when spread thinly on toast. There's a Marmite cookbook on Amazon that gives you many ideas for cooking with Marmite. It also has some funny and entertaining info and comments from famous people. In short, you either love or hate Marmite, there's no in between. If you liked it as a child you will always love it, I suppose it's harder for people introduced to the taste later in life to take a liking to it.

If you're going to use baking powder please make sure it is aluminum free. My wife bakes a lot and likes this baking powder. Therefore I think this product works fine if not superior. Personally Alzheimer scares me and if I don't have to take an unnecessary chance with aluminum why do it? I don't have any proof that aluminum contributes to Alzheimer's but I dont recall ever seeing a multivitamin with aluminum in it. I have heard so much about aluminum and Alzheimer's that this product is seems like a no-brainer to me.

Great product though the shipping charges were ridiculous. The product cost less than $3.00 but the shipping charges were around $11.00. I overlooked that when I made the purchase (I was in a hurry). Be more careful than I was when ordering from this vendor.
