First let me say that as a general rule, I HATE anything flavored with aniseed. But these little treats have caused me to change my tune. They're just delicious; I can sit down and eat a package at a time, they're THAT GOOD. These are modest looking little things, sometimes a little burnt around the edges, no two the same exact shape, but for some reason when you put them in your mouth, the combined richness of the frying oil, the density of the aniseed and the sweetness of the sugar really transports you on a culinary level.
