I'm really rather surprised to see the mixed reviews on here, although I wonder if some of the less favorable reviews have more to do with the recipes in which the base was used. Keep in mind, this is basically a replacement for bouillon cubes, but with a lobster flavor instead of beef or chicken. It packs an intense flavor and, yes, does have a lot of sodium (but not as much as a dried bouillon cube). For most recipes, this means easing up on any additional salt. That said, I've used this not only for lobster bisque but also for a broth for seafood risotto and a paella and it makes for a wonderful dish that can't be beat except by your own lobster stock (and this is a lot cheaper). Typical of the US food industry, they have to pack the product full of salt. By the time you you get the saltiness diluted out all the flavor is diluted out.

This is our second order, on a recommendation from a friend. Fat Free you get the same flavor as a "ham bone" in vegetables, soups etc., Wish it was available in my local grocery store. Other products are, but not the ham base!

I used to depend on the powdered bouillon for cooking--or the little cubes. No more. For chicken bouillon (or vegetable or beef), I now use this product. "Better than Bouillon" is much richer and has a far more textured and better taste. Something like this is often called for in recipes. This is so much preferable to the cubes or powder that I would recommend to anyone using those to give it up. There is no comparison. Even better, of course, is using stock. But for many people, that might not be an option. Short of that, this product does well enough to work and is so much better than what I used before.

I've tried a lot of bases, including commercial flavoring bases. This company seems to put more REAL flavor and less salt in their bases. Maybe that's why it's more expensive, but to me it's worth it. The mushroom base is the first one that caught my attention. It's delicious. Then I tried the lobster, etc.

I have used this product now for a number of years. If you do alot of cooking and always need vegetable or chicken stock, this is all natural, no MSG(like alot of broths on the shelves), and is fantastic!!!!! You only need 1 tsp. for 8oz. water,so its a great deal! Think about switching, you'll be glad you did,I promise!

The grave diggers in the cemetery near our home would eat Pepper Pot soup for lunch. They often shared it with me when I was a child. I'm now a senior citizen and it's still my favorite soup. Our local stores don't sell Pepper Pot soup but thanks to the wonderful internet I can still enjoy the best soup ever made by Campbell's. I prepare it condensed without adding the can of water. It's just the way I learned to eat it from little on up. Thank you Campbell's for making this delicious soup available for all of us to enjoy once again.

Those who care for customers could have overnighted my fish soup 17 times already. And I am still hungry.... No info on reimbursement or re-sending of my soup order as of today.
