Cons: 5-10min warm up when turning on, waxy ink can be scratched off the page and can be difficult to write over Best printer I've ever owned or seen! No comparison. Have owned for 2 months and working great, well worth $200. Also purchased 2 year extended warranty. As long as you don't need the flatbed scanner portion on the 3055 for an additional $100, this is a great fax/printer/copier. I use in a small office where we get 50 faxes per day. I do not have it hooked up to a PC as it is not network friendly. 12A Toner is inexpensive at $60 and quick and easy to change. Says good for 2000 copies. Only negative is you cannot add to a network, wired or wireless. The 3050 costs about the same as the old brother toner & drum replacements. The Brother is now in the trashcan and lovin the HP 3050.

I do not know why people are complaining on the reviews about this printer. I've had alot of great times with it, and yes you have to learn how to play with settings, but you also have to know what you are doing in dealing with the printer quality and the way your printer and computer interact. As you would with ANY printer. I just got done taking 2 college courses that touched upon it. You have to know how to set it up and how to do it, its not spy speak but it is something that takes fiddling and patience. As for ink cost, puhlease not that bad at all! Infact I just found some on here for like 18 bucks for the color! Sweet! Everywhere else its a little more. But I do remember buying 3 packages of paper with roughly 150 pages each! The HP csr is not competent and keep making mistakes. I want to summarize everything here so you can go through everything in 10mins instead of 3 hours. If you got blinking lights, try to install only one cartrige to isolate the problem. When you have the working cartridge installed (color or B&W), you can hold the power button and open the printer cover 3 times and you can get a test page. Let the csr know you have a defective cartridge, the cartridge expiration date is on top of the cartridge, and provide them your info and you need to ship the cartridge and test page back. If you're getting loud clicking noises that seem to be coming from the left front by the paper tray, here's how to fix the problem: - Take the paper tray out. Make sure the paper height is set to 11 inches -- it's probably set a little smaller, and the design lets the paper interfere with the gear that lifts the paper up for the feed roller to grab when it's not set right. - Then lock the paper size - the lock is at the back of the tray. Brother ships it unlocked for some reason.

This machine is more user friendly than the last Panasonic fax machine I used. I was a little disappointed that there were only 50 spaces in the phone book.

This printer has worked very nice so far. We haven't used it enough yet to replace ink or anything. It may be too soon to write a review but we are happy so far! We always purchase HP printers.

Works well. No problems. Would b nice if it had network connection. Paper tray cover seems a little flimsey. It would be nice if there were more control buttons instead of menues to navigate. These things do not detract from this overall very functional, quality machine. Especially at a low price & w/ a large rebate!
