Inexpensive and does the job - shreds my junk mail. Not into unidentifiable strips but easily discardable strips. The teeth are surprisingly strong - paper never gets stuck. The machine never overheats (a problem I had with other brands/models). Happy for what I paid.

I have used several Brother label makers, all of which use the TZ series tapes. Of those tapes, my two favorite are black on white in this width and the ½" width. I prefer the 3/8" width for manila folders because the label fits nicely on the tab near the top edge, making the print easy to read when the manila folder is in a file cabinet. The only drawback to this size tape is that it is actually more expensive than the ½" tape. There is also a 3/8" tape that is black on clear. However, the clear tapes also show any dirt or debris that might be trapped behind the tape. Thus, if you are in an environment that has even a small amount of dirt or other contamination, it may be readily visible against a light background after the tape is positioned. I was skeptical when buying a digital recorder. You read a lot of varied reviews and I wasn't 100% sure if this would do what I wanted. Out of the box, this item was so easy to understand. If you are somewhat computer literate you will get it. The only thing I needed to read instructions for was how to turn the beeping off. I think its great out of the box and it looks a lot nicer than is shown on Amazon. Secondly, I was thrilled about PC connectivity. I hooked it up and it played MP3 right through my Itunes. I was very, very happy about this. People who said it slowed down their computers obviously have an old computer. This didn't slow me down at all. I have no complaints about this item. This is probably a fine label machine for most computrs, but it wouldn't work with my new Vista operating system. Brother's customer service representative put forth great effort to do what was needed to make the driver function. After three phone sessions with Brother, the driver did work; sort of. Yes the label printer worked, but then my printer/copier wouldn't. I suppose that I fiddled with it for over an hour by myself, and then almost that long in company with a Brother Tech Support person. I must say that the Brother telephone support people were really great. They seemed to know what they were talking agout. They were patient and really tried to get the thing working properly. Olympus VN3100PC Digital Voice RecorderWhen I first got this nice little digital recorder earlier this year I was very pleased. It worked very well as described by Olympus and I had no problems connecting to my PC. But then I recently got a new PC with a Vista 64-bit operating system. That, unfortunately, made my digital recorder obsolete because Olympus does not provide driver support for 64-bit systems (as of September 2008). To make matters worse, Olympus did not even answer my request for information about future plans to provide the necessary driver. I would have given this product four stars except for this serious problem. Anyone considering getting a new PC in the near future with a 64-bit operating system should not buy this product.

I bought the Memorex CD/DVD Label Maker Starter Kit about one and a half year ago. Since then I have created several hundred beautiful, personal and professional looking DVD's and CD's. The kit comes with software, 20 disc labels, and some jewel case labels, and the Memorex's 3-in-1 label applicator. Since I have been printing hundreds of disc labels I had to buy more of these. However, they are available at any Office Max or Office Depot. The Memorex exPressit software application is easy to use. It is just a two step wizard style dialog box, and on the last page you design, print and calibrate. Using the self explanatory controls on the last page I easily succeeded in creating some pretty nifty labels using my best photographs.
