All I can say is this is probably the best value for a DSC unit. It works great, and is very well made. It has a large, clear display and plenty of volume. Adding a flush mount kit will make it look like a professional installation in your console. If you want a radio that is simple to use and has all the safety features, I don't think you can beat the price!

Seems to be a powerful radio,with great range,BUT you have to be very carefull not to turn on by mistake resulting in dead batteries.Had to tape the power knob off.

This phone has so many features it makes me feel like James Bond. We own the base and 4 additional remote handsets. (I don't have the same problem as the previous reviewer, we live in a smaller home). You can page someone in the next room using the INTERCOM feature. You can use these as WALKIE-TALKIES but the range is limited. The room monitor works as advertised handy if you have children or parents to care for. You have 100 memory storage for "phonebook" + CALLER ID which means (for example) if you use 75 memory storage spaces for your phonebook you'll have 25 memory spaces available for CALLER ID. The 26th memory "bumps" the next CALLER ID. Love this phone. Highly recommended.

We bought this set 2 1/2 years ago. Within the first year (warranty period), the on button stopped working on one phone, so we sent it in to get it fixed. Within the next year, either the on or off buttons stopped working on all 3 phones, rendering them useless. Other than that, they were great phones - easy to use and convenient. The small size didn't bother us, and we never had problems with clarity inside the house, although we couldn't take them outside to use. However, whether these are just bad phones or we happened to get 3 lemons, I can't tell you, but I wouldn't buy them again.

I bought this item for my Dad for father's day since he goes to the races as an annual event. He usually rents one of these which is very costly and this saves lots of $$$$. He said it worked great and loved it. I can't say more except that now my husband will probably want one too. I highly recommend for any race fan out there.

I purchased these radios to use on a cruise and they worked well all over the ship. I can't say much about the range since the ship is only about a 1,000 feet. But the signal went thru alot of walls throughout the ship. The battery life could have been better, but they seemed to last about a day so we just recharged them each night. One thing to note, they mention weather updates on this radio and that is false. There is no weather service option on this radio. Some of the ones just a bit more expensive do have that option. The volume control with 2 buttons isn't as nice as the turn dial control on some of the nicer models. But for the price, this is a good radio. One final note. this is just what i was looking for. and for the refurbished price, i couldn't beat it. had a few problems getting the cordless phones to work, but one quick email to the seller, we figured out that it needed new batteries. he sent them off to me and i was ready to go! the corded base phone is a little echoey, but not a big deal. the numbers on the cordless phones are a little small, but again, not a big deal. the "do not disturb" feature is really nice. no unwanted calls when you're trying to nap or get some things done. and there isn't a "beep" to let you know you have messages. you just have to look at the base and see the blinking light. all in all, i'd buy it all over again! hope this has helped.

It shows up CID right after the first ring, while the Panasonic does it after two rings. The Uniden 2080 does not show caller's name even if the CID is already in the phone book, while my Uniden 1560-2 does! Panasonic is the worst, it scrolls the name and then the phone #; plus, as I just said, it takes one more ring to get CID. When you finally see the caller's #, it is too late, the answering machine is activated. Although I like the idea of normal AAA NiMH batteries, Panasonic stupidly force them to be charged in the stock charger only. If you put a pair of fully charged batteries into the Panasonic, it keeps saying (via voice) "charge it for 7 hours", until you put the handset into the charger for a while. I bought one of these for everyday use in the Everglades, and have had no problem with it, it has even been subject to my waterproof and drop tests (been submerged in marsh water and rained on multiple times dropped on cement, gravel, in sand, and mud.) and have had no transmitting or recieving problems. Unfortunately, if you drop it on cement from 8 feet just the right way you can crack the threaded part that the antenna attaches to. I have transmitted and recieved as far as 8 miles with this radio. My line of sight is open and there is no electronic interference where I am, so individual results may vary. Even though I broke mine im buying another, and than I will have a spare battery. For the price, not a bad deal.
