I've had this router for two months and had nothing but problems. It randomly looses it's ip connection to my cable modem and then takes forever to find it again. Based on the mixed feedback I see on this site I suspect it's a production defect that only affects certain routers as I see both very good and very bad ratings. You're taking a risk buying this router. I won't buy it again!

I replaced a crash prone WRT54AG router with the WRT54GL. I was hesitant because I had so many problems with the other Linksys router. However after reading many rave reviews and the ability to flash a Linux based firmware I took a leap of faith. I installed the Tomato firmware and could not be happier. The router has never locked up and the signal strength is incredible. I can listen to streaming radio via my iPhone while mowing the lawn! If you want a rock solid, 3rd party firmware capable router look no further. Now only if they had an N version of this.

I returned it several weeks ago. But no refund yet.. =( On the Linksys boards, there are known problems with this router such as drop outs and slow speeds. Don't buy this!

I owned two of these one replacing the other, both needed to be rebooted every couple of weeks and both of the conked out after less than a year. I now have a D-Link wireless N router that has been problem free for more than 18 month now.

I bought this product and hooked it up with no issues whatsoever. Nice looking and no antenna sticking out/up. The security piece is great and all PCs in my house have no trouble getting connected and staying connected securely. I gave this 4 stars because every once in a while it disconnects, which happened more often on the last 3 routers I've owned. Would definitely recommend this product to anyone in the market for wireless N.

I replaced an old hub on my home network with this. I was getting an lot of "collisions" and slow performance. This unit cleared that up. Can't beat the price!

I tried for about an hour to install this on my Vista desktop, with no success. I followed every step of the included instructions, but could not get it to work. Also, this device is not plug-and-play, a feature that I think every modern computer product should have. To be fair, however, other wireless network adapters do not have this feature, either.

Needed to expand wireless coverage to another building downhill and through trees about 300 feet from the base with a utility building in between. By mounting this unit in the utility building we were able to get at least some coverage. It was a little spotty but generally effective. The unit is very easy to setup with unsecured networks but was very tempermental in recognizing the security. Overall it was a very good buy.

I recently purchased the WRT610N and the matching Linksys WSUB600N dual band adapter. First some comments on the router set-up. The WRT610N router was very easy to install and configure. Using the new Linksys set-up wizard is very straight forward. However, in setting up encryption on the router be prepared to spend time on the phone with Linksys. Setting up wireless encryption is a very trying experience. However, it's doable with good tech support. The wired Ethernet network connection works as advertised. Also, using the matching Linksys WSUB600N USB Ethernet network adapter was also straight forward. I used a Lenovo R61 laptop with the WSUB600N. This product is great the hardest part was taking off the paneling but it came off after I found the tool to use. It's simple to install into the computer took me less than 10 minutes. This was a great buy recommended.
