After researching a lot of home wireless security cameras I decided on this Panasonic. For the price and once you get the camera set up, this is a great little camera. Although I am pretty computer savy I spent 9 hours on a Saturday trying to get my two cameras set up. I finally gave up and called the Panasonic help desk. If you want to save some grief and frustration don't call the help desk on a weekend ! When I called back on Monday morning I got right to a technician who was very helpful and patient. About an hour with him on the phone and it was all done ! I even set it up so that I can access my cameras from my i-phone. How neat is that? Picture quality is pretty good..operation works flawlessly. For the money I highly recommend it.

I really enjoy my Wireless Outdoor Remote. I have it hooked up to my paper lantern light strings hung around my screened in porch. I no longer have to get a stool to plug them in every night. The remote even works from inside the house and I don't have to be in sight of the outlet! Lots of fun! The reason I only gave it four stars instead of five is because it would work better for me if the power outlet did not have a cord. If it was just a box that plugged into the outlet, then I could plug my lights into the box. As it is, I have to rest the box (at the end of the short cord) on top of my outdoor speaker.

So far I am very pleased with this device. Through research I learned that the Panasonic chip is one of the best video chips and I can back that up. It may not look very heavy duty but during installation, I dropped it about 7 feet onto concrete. I never would have guessed that it would continue to work but it did. The web server is very easy to configure and use. Since it uses an open video protocal, it works well with the IPhone (controls and video fit nicely onto screen), and I'm even able to easily diplay the video on a custom web page.

To most of my friends I'm a geek, but after several attempts over a number of years to set up a secure and reliable wireless system, I gave up. The Panasonic system is wonderful! Just plug it in. I have a 6 meg Comcast cable hookup and can get the same download speed from any socket in my house. No security problems to worry about. Just a short ethernet cable to my laptop and I can go anywhere in the house by just plugging in. Very highly recommended.

I have a First Alert security system. It's inexpensive but works great. The camera that came with it was OK but marginal. I researched many cameras and this one came with high praise. It deserves it. I could not have been happier. The only slight downside is that the IR lights can wash out the subject when they are about 15 feet or closer away. I covered the lights with a disc of smoke colored plastic. It helped a lot. I am thrilled with this camera..

I love this product - but what's up with the pricing? I bought the starter pack (master and slave pair) in April for $46 - and now they're selling a single for $75? Should've bought extras back in April when the single unit was less than $30! 'nuff said about that - this thing works great; only two minor issues so far: (1) you can't put your PC in standby because it won't reconnect when it wakes up - you have to reboot to get a network connection; and (2) it won't work when connected to an outlet on a GFCI circuit (instructions hint at this - they say to avoid using an outlet strip). If you can live with these two items, and are willing to pay the (now much higher) cost, you'll be happy. Easiest wired connection you'll ever make!

Nice detector but the Escort 9500ix is already coming out with 'enhanced' features. I just bought my 9500i a few days ago and it works well. I have owned multiple Escorts over the years. Wish I had known the detector was being upgraded so soon.

This system suffers from extremely low quality video and sound. The video is frequently filled with enough static that it makes it difficult to see the baby. Second, the sound is also very low quality - this is over about a 30 foot transmission distance. Distances of 60 feet or so across the house render the unit unusable. Raising the sound level high enough enable hearing the baby noises brings with it an intolerable level of static. Furthermore, bursts of interference become headsplitting. These might be forgivable if the unit were very portable, but its not. The form factor is awkward and not very stable on a table. I installed 3 Q-See QSC48030 surveillance cameras on the outside of my house. The first two installations went without a hitch (the cameras are great) using the provided 60 foot cables but the third camera needed an 80 foot cable so I purchased the 100 foot Q-See brand cable. After reading the comments in Amazon, I was not surprised to receive a white cable instead of a black one and really didn't care one way or the other. The cable came with two female-to-female adapters and a short (a few inches) power extension cable which I thought was a nice unexpected plus. Again because of reading the comments, I was extra careful in running the cable so as not to stress it and cause a break in the cable (the wires are very thin).
