I tried 3 sets of speakers for my computer. I was looking for something specific. Clean, well balanced sound in a small enough package but loud enough. No big subwoofer on these, but the sounds is loud enough and more importantly for me, clean sounding. For the price, couldn't ask for more.

I purchased the Polk Atrium 45 outdoor speakers about a month ago, and for $113, I am pleased with their performance. Some of the reviews I read criticized their bass performance, and they are a bit lacking in bass, but given their size limitations,they do OK. They are bookshelf-type speakers, for crying out loud, and I don't have an outdoor subwoofer. I mounted my speakers on 4x4 posts on my deck inside (believe it or not) foam coolers that are slightly larger than the speakers. This affords me complete weatherproofing, as the lid seals the speaker in when not in use. I used washers on either side of the foam when mounting them. I replaced my old KLH 3 1/2 inch 2 way speakers with these sony 5 1/2 inch and they are great! I read about every review before I bought them and I must agree with the rest that gave a good review, you clearly hear the bass and crisp highs jumping out at you. I have a 5 inch KLH powered subwolfer for bass that I used before, now I don't need to use it unless I just want extra bass. For the price and the sound these speakers give, you "CAN'T" go wrong with these speakers.

These speakers are fine, have a volume button and headphone on them but they just aren't as clear as I would like them to be. They have too much bass for my taste which seems to drown out the mid and higher range sounds; it sounded better when I changed the equalizer settings (in iTunes) from small speakers to vocal booster. I like my Logitech V20 Notebook Speakers better but don't like parting with a USB port so I'll keep those for travel and continue to use these at home.

I love these speakers!!! It is a full & rich sound that is way better than the TV speakers. I have pets that would chew wires and can not put them in the walls or under a rug. As such, the sound bar solution was really my only choice (except for an all wireless system). Since I bought a Sony HD TV, I was biased to stay in the Sony family since the Bravia sync kept usage simple (a requirement for low-tech wife & kids). When I played movies that have great surround scenes (e.g., train whizzing by in Hot Fuzz - great movie by the way), the sound was great but not like I have heard with a true 5.1 system where you hear the train coming from behind you). For the price & constraints I have, this is a great solution.

I am very surprised with the amazing quality of this speakers, for far are the best speakers that I have owned in my life, sound is very clear, bass is really powerful, I put my music at the maximum volume that can support my equipment and sound was perfect, I recommend this speakers to every body is my first time with Polk audio and I fall in love with the brand!!!!

I'v owned this speaker system for 2 months, and my left speaker already blew out. The volume is alright, the bass is really good. But I would not recommend this speaker system to anyone. 1/5 stars.
