I recently picked up this Blu Ray Player and have been watching movies/shows pretty much non stop since then. The Planet Earth series is excellent. I am using the S350 with my Samsung LN46A550 and it is unbelievable. Even cartoons on Blu Ray are spectacular. This unit responds quickly to remote functions and has been flawless so far. Every movie has played without a hitch and has been a treat to watch.

It has stunning clarity and amazing response. My daughter loves this player. 180 degree turn feature is very good but there is a catch. It rotates only in clockwise direction. It is not helpful in my situation may be good for others.

I had the very good Sony NS75 upconverting player, but when I saw this new NS700 at such a great price (same as the NS75 two years ago), I jumped on it. The old NS75 did only 1080i, while this new player does 1080p. In fact, it's the first HDTV peripheral I've bought that exploits my nearly two-year-old A2000's native 1080p. Some may say, who can tell the difference between 1080i and 1080p? Well, between this player and my old one, I can. Not only is the progressive scan superior, Sony seems to have really improved upconversion processing in the two years since the NS75. Before, I was aware of the upconversion. I like the product so far. It's a bit too bulky but it's just as described of course. The price is perfect for the unit so I like it a ton.

I've owned this unit for about a month now and feel like I'm fairly conversant with how the player works. First of all, the picture quality and sound quality are great. It's unlike anything I've ever seen. I've had some upconverting DVD players, and the difference is there and highly noticeable. Some negatives: resuming a movie from the middle is pretty much impossible for whatever reason. I press stop, power off the player while it's in resume, turn it back on and it isn't where it was. Instead, it's back at the beginning. A seemingly small thing that drives me nuts. The menu system isn't terribly intuitive either. The remote feels kind of cheap (but I use a Logitech Harmony anyway, so it's less of an issue for me). Those are just some small things that keep this player from great. Read More

this is a very bad product, the remote does not work unless you are next to the dvd, it takes forever to act once you send the remote order. It is slow in every aspect. I dont recommend it, I was too lazy to returned but i should have returned it

I have only used this DVD player a couple of times, but the image on my new HD TV is sure a lot better then with my old DVD player. I am not very technical, but I can tell the difference. The colors are brighter and sharper. Finer detail makes the images crisper. Worth every penny of the price. Since my new TV is a Samsung I purchased this, and yes, it does work with the TVs remote, so no multiple remote problems.

I own three BD players, one HD-DVD player, Denon 7.1ch amp, 7.1 ch Bose speakers, and etc. First, this player has both the most advanced logic semiconductor technology and very good software algorithm that enable lower noise but vivid graphics and high-quality sound. I tested using blu-ray test sample disks distributed from DTS and Dolby, and found that this player has the least block decoding noises, while the vividness of the color is the best of all. Its controller is not the best but very good enough. I use this player at the main audio/video room. I highly recommend this to people who are thinking about future upgrade of AV amp that can handle DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD bit stream.
