UFC 85 was originally supposed to have Shogun vs Liddell as the main event, but Shogun had to pull out due to knee surgery. Rashad Evans went on to replace Shogun but Liddell later torn his hamstring and was replaced with James Irvin. Well what do you know, James Irvin ended up having to drop out due to injury and, well, the main event was totally trashed. So leave it up to the 2 guys that took over the main event in such short time, former welterweight champ Matt Hughes and contender Thiago Alves to fill in! From a time when good morals could be learned from TV. An excellent introduction to Eastern Asian philosophy. Actors who guest starred were varied. Watching Keye Luke as a mature man is fascinating to anyone who remembers the old Warner Oland "Charlie Chan" series when Mr. Luke played 'No. 1 son'. If you get a chance to see "The Good Earth" with Paul Muni you can see both Keye Luke and Philip Ahn as young men.

The first season was good, the second was great, and the third and final season made the show a legend. If you start at the beginning of this season, and I know you will, you'll be disappointed for a few episodes. They had to get their groove back or something. And then, with no gradual transition whatsoever, the writing will leap into the stratosphere and remind you why you love this show. It is simply awesome, and it isn't dated. One thing they did at the start of this season was try to raise the level of menace on the martial arts, but it was already there. At times, the verbal sparring was even better than the kung fu, and you know how great that was. I've written before that you should use superlatives sparingly, and one memorable essay ... Read More

I'm a big fan of the TUF series and I just had to get this DVD. Seasons 1,2, and 4 are the best in my opinion. All of them are definitely good, but those three i can watch over and over.

I'm a big fan of the TUF series and I just had to get this DVD. Seasons 1,2, and 4 are the best in my opinion. All of them are definitely good, but those three i can watch over and over.
