I use this movie with my 10th Graders as a part of my Modern World Class. It really gives them the full perspective of the 1980 Winter olympics.

Bought as a gift for my husband. He truly loved this one! A must have for any hockey fan's collection. He ranked this video higher than the NHL Greatest Moments.

We bought this for our 8-year-old son for Christmas last year. He has memorized almost every word in the DVD. Well done, comprehensive and even inspirational at times. Kids enjoy watching and studying it. Two thumbs up.

The quotation above is just one of Penguins play-by-play man Mike Lange's bizarre declarations after a Penguins goal. Also, Lange gives a brief introduction before the games. Not being a Penguin fan, I'm not going to get into nitpicking about which games should be on here. Instead, I'll just discuss what is on here. Most of the games on here feature fine video and audio quality. Exceptions being the North Stars game (poor video and audio) and the '91 Devils game which was joined in progress in the first period due to what were called "technical issues". In regards to the North Stars game, I've seen the CBC telecast of that game which looks and sounds fine. Why not just use that one? "Sidney Crosby: On The Ice and Beyond" is a documentary that covers a bit of Sid's life but mainly focuses on the Pittsburgh Penguins' run to the Stanley Cup Final in 2008. It is an extremely well-shot documentary and as a filmmaker myself, I can only say that I wish I had been a part of its production! Excellent hockey footage and a seamless storyline are integrated into this film about a kid that changed a city and is really the face of the NHL. With this film, you get a behind the scenes look at what it really means to be an all-star NHL'er and I'd recommend it to any hockey fanatic out there!

i love french movies. this movie is better than the notebook. i say this because it's kind of similar to the notebook, only this one is french but even more amazing and romantic. where as, mathilde never gives up on her love manech, in the notebook that other girl (rachel macadams? or however you spell it) does and finds some other guy. in this movie you see how they fall in love when they were kids in the movie. it's so cute. i love it. it made me cry so many times at first watching it. i still do every so often hahaha. its just so romantic, funny, cute, amazing...the scenery is beautiful too. and i LOVE gaspard ulliel :]...he's the greatest actor, especially in this movie. nothing i can say in any of his movies are bad acting. i just loved this movie. audrey in the movie was really great too. people ... With 24 Stanley Cups and countless memorable games in their hundred year history, selecting ten 'greatest games' is a difficult task indeed!. However, given the requirement of a decent video source, this DVD set was restricted to materials mostly drawn from the 1970's and up. This is a real shame, since so much of the legend and lore surrounding the Habs was forged in earlier decades. I personally am aware of at least a few complete Montreal games from the 1950's and 1960's that have been broadcast on classic sports TV stations, so only selecting the single 1960 game as a representation is somewhat disappointing. As well, for those who are afficianados of the team, the omission of the 1971 semi-final comeback against the Boston Bruins or the Cup winning seventh game that same season seems a bit perplexing. ... I was duped. I thought that, by buying this DVD set, that I would also get the NHL season recap video for the Wings. But, nooooo. I ended up having to go out and buy that DVD as well. I watched each of these games. I video-taped each of these games. Someday, this set will probably be nice to have. But buyer beware, if you are buying this to get the Red Wings 2008-09 season recap video, it's not in there. That should have been made more clear.
