Here is one of the smartest, hilarious movies of the year.

The basic plotline: A smart-mouthed, 16-year-old girl gets pregnant by her geeky, adorable friend. She goes through a few pregnancy tests, calls up her friend to share her burden, frets for a moment and then bravely takes on the role of being a pregnant high schooler. Although, the ultimate theme of this film is a teenager dealing with pregnancy, it has a larger theme of the this incredible girl discovering life and love along the journey.

The whole movie is carried by this young girl, played by Ellen Page, and Ellen Page deserves all the hype that she got from this movie. Juno is quirky, smart, sassy, original and adorable and she is played with so much heart. She may be a teenager but she is a fabulous ... Read More

This was the final season to one of the few action series helmed by a female character.

Season 5 introduces the new characters of Rachel Gibson (replacement for Sydney) and Thomas Grace (replacement for Vaughn). The idea was to have the experience of how Sydney became an agent with Rachel's story. In paper an excellent idea, in the works it was TERRIBLE. The character was extremely weak, and unsympathetic. The character of Grace was actually good but was not developed enough, and brought some intrigued to the show.

The supporting cast was wonderful as usual. The interaction Sidney/Jack and Sydney/Sloane was always a welcome addition to the show.

I have to say that THE BEST ADDITION to this final season was the character of Payton (played by Amy Acker). ... Read More

Alias is gradually losing momentum in the fourth season. There are still some good moments, but Rambaldi stories become more and more painstaking. The end is just laughing stock. After this series, I stopped watching Alias.

There seems to be nothing more terrifying to Sydney Bristow than waking up two years after she closed her eyes to find her world upside down: her squeeze married to another, a mysterious scar on her lower stomach, and two years of her life as material as a fairytale. As the season two closer, Bristow (played by Jennifer Garner) has woken up in a Hong Kong backdrop without any incilination of what has happened with her life.
The first episode holds the typical first episode feel: what has happened, and how can we fix it. Sydney finds herself strangely alone in a world she once found solace in. But as the script takes a turn for the worse, after a single day of going back to the CIA, she delivers a powerhouse monologue to her past love, Vaughn. I'm not sure if Michael Vartan is still the actor he once was in previous ... Read More

This is one of the best films I've seen in a long time. Good direction by Peter Berg (who also makes a guest appearance). Even though the content is emotionally charged this is a character driven movie. With the leads of two different sides conflicting but coming together to work on the same goal--Finding the evil doers. Special Kudos to Ashraf Barhom (Colonel Ghazi and Jason Bateman (Adam Leavitt). From the beginning you become attached to the scene and what is going on. The special effects are well done and a painful tension is maintained throughout the whole film. Not everyone makes it out alive and the losses are unexpected. I highly recommend this film which in the end delivers a never ending message.

Most television series acknowledge the importance of the first season, a precursor to the however many running years a show has. ALIAS has not let its viewers down. JJ Abrams, most famous for his work on FELECITY, comes to us with a breathtaking reinvention of ther spy series.
Syndey Bristow, a strong-willed graduate student has two worlds: one of a regular student who spends her evenings home with her friends and fiancee, Danny. Another of an international spy for SD-6, a black-ops division of the CIA. But, when she decides to bring pieces of the worlds together, by telling her fiancee of her double life, SD-6 has him killed. In a brilliant pilot, Sydney's work life is revealed to be a sham, she is not working for a black-ops CIA division, but a syndicate of an international terrorist organization, the Alliance.

I think this is a really good funny movie! Jennifer Garner is extremely sexy in her role! She plays a woman named Jenna who wakes up the day after her 13th birthday party, and she's 30! She's confused at first, but soon adapts to the idea. Her childhood friend named Matt has become engaged to someone else. She works for her favorite magazine, Poise. Jenna tries to track down Matt, and realizes that they've stopped being best friends. She tries to help make everything right. If you love comedy and chick flicks, you'll love 13 GOING ON 30!!!

Catch and Release is, in a word, boring. The main plot - a woman learning and coping with the knowledge that her dead fiance is not the man she thought he was - should have been enough meet for a quality writer to carve out a satisfying story. Instead, Catch and Release is a sloppy brew of grief, romance, comedy, and tragedy without any focus to speak of.

Jennifer Garner's performance was bland. It seems as though she has two emotions: confusion, and on-the-verge-of-crying. The perpetual pout she exhibits does nothing but emphasize her lack of acting chops. It's as though the director found that one emotion she can display with some ability and told her to hold that look throughout the film.

The supporting cast is largely useless. While they all serve some purpose in driving a particular plot element home, ... Read More
