No single disc blu-ray? I grew weary of "extras" a couple of years ago; I just want the movie, and I won't pay for content I don't want.

I'm a fan of comic book adaptations but i have to say Iron Man just did not do it for me. I felt that nothing new was added to the comic book adaptation genre, not in plot, screen writing or even special effects. It looked to me like it has all been done and seen before. I did not quite understand what all the hype surrounding this movie was about Robert Downey Jr. was not very convincing as a good guy i liked him better when he was selling weapons and couldn't care less about anyone else, his good side felt to me as somewhat forced on him, didn't believe it. Although i love Gwyneth Paltrow i hated this part for her, it was just meaningless and very secondary, any up and coming actress could have done that role. Paltrow should have never agreed to it.
All in all i do not think this movie ... Read More

Kung Fu Panda is the best Dreamworks film to date. It even rivals Pixar in top notch quality, humor, and re-watch value. Jack Black does a superb job as Po and the other big name actors do a fine job lending their voices to the other characters. An absolute must-see for anybody who's a fan of Kung Fu, Jack Black, Pandas, or just plain humor!

The geniuses at Pixar have done it again with this extremely cute, touching, and socially conscious movie. Wall-E--short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class--is an adorable, vaguely ET-like robot whose job is cleaning up trash by pressing it into cubes. Since the future Earth he inhabits has been rendered uninhabitable by enormous garbage heaps, Wall-E has only a cockroach for companionship; all humans have fled the planet on "space vacations" and have remained in space for 700 years. In the course of this long absence, they have grown used to an effortless yet artificial existence and have forgotten all about their once-beautiful home, but a miraculous discovery gives Wall-E a chance to bring them back.

One of the most unique accomplishments of this movie is the characterization ... Read More

And he's still kicking some behind like only he can!!

Personally i loved the movie and it only gets better with more viewings. I know some had some issues with the alien twist, but for me it made sense that as an archeologist, Indy would have to deal with this issue sooner or later. One only has to look at ancient civilizations to realize the tremendous impact the 'Gods' had on many of them. And those 'Gods' came from the sky... people can draw their own conclusions on this. I did find it refreshing that they just didnt make the aliens little green men from mars. They were interdimensional beings, and i loved it. I've always been fascinated by UFO's so i guess that's why i had no issues with this story for Indy.

As for the dvd itself, it has many fantastic features that touch on the ... Read More

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE while being the second in the series to DR. NO is the first in which the James Bond popular culture came to know and love makes his appearance and is often considered the best of them all. Sean Connery plays Bond a bit different from the character on the pages of Ian Fleming spy novels as well as turning in an improved performance over his previous effort in DR. NO. Connery made a Bond better fit for the screen, giving the character more personality, more charisma and humor than Fleming's buttoned-up, bland English gentleman spy. As one co-producer of the Bond films says,"We always start out trying to make another FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE and end up with another THUNDERBALL". Well, THUNDERBALL is just another good Sean Connery Bond action film while FROM RUSSIA.. is film classic.

This has a lot of memorable moments, even though the underwater sequences are overlong, but a good villain, great Bond girl, and of course Connery. See it.

I decided to rewatch Pierce Brosnan's Bond swan song once again to see if it was as bad as so many seem to think it is. I had much warmer memories of it myself. Unfortunately I must conclude that it really IS that bad--at least the second half. The compelling opening sequence features a vulnerable 007 being tortured by the North Korean army and even boasts a cane-seat chair, though it's not put to such sinister use as the one Daniel Craig sat on. I happen to like Madonna's driving-techno titular theme theme song as much as I like "You Know My Name", which is bunches. Halle Berry is lovely to look at, but as Jinx receives no assistance from a script that requires her to deliver lines like "Ornithologist, huh? Now there's a mouthful" while staring at 007's crotch. The thrust-and-parry of sexual inneudo between Bond ... Read More

Roger Moore's maiden voyage as James Bond -- and the third different actor in the role in three consequetive films -- is actually a fairly entertaining movie with the usual set pieces, babes, and Moore's laid back performance. Tom Mankowicz (who wrote for both Connery and Moore) had the best observation. In the scene where Moore enters the Fillet of Soul in Harlem, if you have Connery you know there is going to be a fight. Jane Seymour's big break, Yaphet Koto as Kananga/Mr. Big, Julius Harris as his henchman "T" and David Hedison in his first outing as Bond's CIA buddy Felix Leiter. The first 007 since DR. NO not to be scored by John Barry, the music is courtesy of Sir George Martin (who produced the Beatles records) with a title song (and an energetic one at that) by Paul McCartney and Wings. A pleasant romp, I actually ... Read More
