Another British invasion? "Celtic Thunder" is a group of 5 men from Ireland and Scotland, whose voices are truly amazing. Each has a strong and distinctive solo voice, but also blend well when they sing together. The music isn't all Celtic in nature - "Desperado" "That's a Woman" and "Puppy Love" are among those that aren't. The show is about 2 hours, and when they're finished, you'll find yourself wanting more! They are engaging performers who immediately connect with their audience. It would be difficult to choose a favorite - each having a unique style. This is not a "boy band." It is a DVD you'll watch again and again! My only disappointment is that the CD only has about half the songs from the DVD. I wish they had made it a double CD set. I am hoping they will make another recording soon. ... Read More

This dvd is such a bargin for the price. I just finished up watching it and was blown away. I've seen him live before and this one makes you feel like you're right there. This performance was exceptional being broken up into three parts. The first is an acoustic set where John does a great cover of Free Fallin, the second is the John Mayer Trio, and the third is John with his band. If you are a John Mayer fan this and the cd are a must.

I've seen zz Top 2 times live, in the 70's, & listened to their music all my life. This dvd is long overdue for zz Top fans. Don't even think about it twice, buy it. Except go to Walmart, I bought it there for $10. Best deal I ever got at Walmarts. Seriously it is a great concert, these guys prove why U try to keep all your band members in the band forever.

Be sure you have plenty of time to view this series. Like photo chips, when you view an episode can't wait for the next one. Sad the series has ended.

Martin Scorsese, the director of "Shine a light", showed in his previous documentary about Bob Dylan ("No direction home") that he is capable of illuminating the past of an artist, in order to show the influences on his work and the way in which events that happened in the world had to do with it. Even though I loved that documentary, I merely liked this one.

"Shine a light" is supposed to be a documentary about the Rolling Stones, but it ends up being not much more than a dvd about one of their concerts. I must confess that it is entertaining, but the old footage that Scorsese includes from time to time between takes of the concert don't really manage to tell the spectator much about Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ron Wood, and Charlie Watts, or make him understand the reasons why they became one of the ... 6.How Great Is Our God (DVD+CD) starring: Louie Giglio

Louie Giglio treats us to some of God's creation. The viewer realizes that his/her problems pale in insignificance in the light of God's character as revealed in His creation.

Giglio provides details about stars and their various sizes. It is sobering to realize how much bigger some stars are than our own sun.

He includes discussion of the DNA molecule and its fascinating functions. There is also a protein called laminin. It literally holds our cells together--and so, by implication, it holds our very selves together. Amazingly, it is shaped like a cross.

The expressions on Raul Esparza's face detail the rumblings beneath the surface that Stephen Sondheim finds fascinating.

This 2006 Tony-winning revival received a mixed response from audiences and critics alike. But then, COMPANY is a show that is always divisive. For starters, the show has no "plot" in a conventional sense. That bothers some viewers. It also uses songs to express attitudes rather than advance the story (again, what story?) But those subtle lingering looks, the unexpected responses, the sighs, the pauses...they communicate so much about these characters, and that is beautifully captured in this video.

No, it is not the COMPANY that was seen on Broadway in 1970. Given the advances it presaged, I expect that to see an archival reconstruction of the original might now look horribly dated. ... Read More

-somebody (eric clapton?)get bill murray (sp)in a rehab center! as much as i like bill murray his annoying m.c. prattle is supremley bothersome!!
murray needs to lay off the sauce and concentrate on being the great artist he can be...

as for the performances, this collection is worth owning just for the vince gill performances and the derek trucks/susan tedschi performances. (shes' so great! she made a fan of me!!!)there are many other high spots (steve winwood is typically fabulous!) and some low, but, BUY IT! you won't be sorry!! some of the performances may be the 'swan song/s' for some of the older artists. the 2007 is probably better than the 2004 but the 2004 is worth having too...(vince gill)

Smart, quick and extremely funny, Izzard is amazing in Dress to Kill. Excellent choice if you've just heard of him (shame on you!), for this will make a die-hard fan out of everyone. I usually find myself quoting his lines in everyday situations.

Dress to Kill is funny the first time you watch it, but it gets better when you watch it again, and again, and again... It's genius.

I would definitely recommend buying D2K together with Glorious (and then you're hooked... so you'll probably end up buying all of the others anyway)

Looking forward to DVDs of his more recent shows!
