Musically, this isn't for kids. That should have been figured out by everyone right away. Many of the songs (many which are sexually suggestive) are 20 to 40 years old anyway. The kind of music that we use to listen to when we were kids. But, to me, I'd rather our kids listen to sexy songs instead of today's angry songs. And one moment in the film Mumbles is being singled out as if something is wrong with him because he's different. This could have been a discussion similar to telling a child that he's wrong for being gay. But, the entertainment of this musical film changes when it suddenly becomes a message about our endangered environment. I found this movie quite unexpectedly and find I really enjoy it. It is a fun movie and enjoyable, especially by pet lovers.

This is not the original, full version that featured Kermit the Frog as narrator. It is edited, with some lines being cut from the show as well as full scenes. Even some of the songs are edited or shortened. I hope the full, unedited version of this classic show will be released soon. My rating is due to this not being the full version. The program itself is still as enjoyable as ever but would be much more enjoyable if it wasn't edited.

I found this movie to be very sweet and lovable. The character almost has a Pollyanna quality as she makes you like her instantly. John Schneider (of Dukes of Hazzard fame) does a nice job of being a doting father. Having been to Williamsburg, I was glad to see it nicely portrayed. The movie touches on some of the issues of the American Revolution and how to keep friendships despite opposing political views. This is an excellent movie. We all liked it. I look forward to more in the series.

What this movie has going for it is the low expectations I had from watching the trailer and then finding it to be surprisingly charming. I liked the three chimp characters on the space craft who were we'll casted for the parts. I think the cost of computer animation for theatrical release is pricing itself out of the market. This movie has enough charm and hipness to make up for the cut-rate quality of a 37 million dollar production budget. It's worth renting and then after that you can figure out if you want to own it. I think it may have a profitable afterlife in movie rentals and cable and TV broadcast royalties. Over time I have found I would like to own it. It's a family movie with enough clever humor to keep the adults entertained.

I watched this movie with my children and really enjoyed it with them. It's a darling movie which inspires good values. I am so pleased with it that I am buying it for my friends and their children.

Ignore the other reviews. My kids, 7 and 4 watched this video in our car dvd player. They became very upset when, in the first several minutes of the movie, one child explains to another child: 1. There is NO Santa Clause 2. How could Santa go down all the chimney's in the world in 1 night, it's not logical 3. There also is NO GOD 4. And NO HEAVEN This becomes especially upsetting in the movie because the child who is being told this, sadly exclaims, "this(no heaven)can't be true because what about my mom?" (Her mom is dead and the child had previously thought her mom was in Heaven.) This sad, upset child then tells the other child, "You are not my friend anymore." My 2 year old son LOVES this movie(my husband and I do too). The colors and animation are fabulous and we just can't get enough of that cute little monkey! I highly recommend this to parents of toddlers on up.
