Hello God, it's me.......ummmm, I can't really remember my name right now. I just watched the biggest mind f@#* of my life last night and still can't shake it from my head. Not really sure what to write other than the fact that I was pretty sure that I had seen it all, but I guess it's good to know that there are some things in this world can still shake you to your core.....for better or for worse.
All I know is that if I was ever abducted and locked away for 15 years....trust me, I wouldn't have been able to handle it quite as well as Oh Dae-Su.
Nothing I could write down here should be able to influence you as to whether or not you should see this movie. If you've got a strong stomach and a good moral center than you should be able to walk away from this movie ... Read More

See all those people that say this movie is overrated?

Believe them. I didn't at first but after watching it, boy was it boring. Expect nothing scary at all, its more gory than anything and only towards the end. About 50 minutes of the whole movie is about him setting up an audition for these guys.

My reviews might not sound as complete as some of those that give this 5 stars, but it speaks the truth. Don't be fooled by overrated junk.

I think you should still watch it though if you're curious, never let someone else's opinion cloud yours, this is my opinion as an avid horror film water; Japanese, American, Korean, Thai, Chinese....you name it, as long as it has English subs.

I saw "The Grudge" first and basically thought: Whatever!?
Now I'm glad I gave the original a try. "Ju-On" is vastly superior to the remake and also much scarier.
Usually the Asian horror movies are the ones that are puzzling to extremes. Here it's the other way around. "Ju-On" makes perfect sense, whereas the American remake couldn't possibly make less.
And I better don't start speaking of "The Grudge 2". Ugh. You might want to check out "Ju-On 2" instead, which --- surprise --- comes up to the standard of this first installment.

Great movie. The ending has an interesting and believable twist which offers something different than what you would get with an American film. Also, it shows some interesting insight as to how mental illness is dealt with and viewed in other cultures. Wonderful Psychological thriller.

Awesome. Amazing. Tantalizing. You will laugh and cry and maybe crap your pants. Or your friends' pants. The drinking game is great. Word.

Genuinely creepy. Alessandra de Rossi delivers a convincing performance, but the real star of the movie is Singapore, with it's traditions and superstitions it proves to be a more than apt setting for the ghost story. Very well made.

The suspenseful setting was set in place, only thing missing was that this movie really just didn't have it.

The scary ghost lady in the movie isn't even scary! I make plain reviews just to go right out and say it. I'm not going to fabricate everything with complicated words.

This movie was boring and unoriginal. At least make the ghost/demon look scary, it just looks like a normal lady with wide eyes. Honestly, all these Asian chicks look like the ghost, they're all Asian folks with a scary faces. It's like sometimes I can't tell the difference if I'm either seeing a demon or just another Asian chick in the movie. You know the movie is bad because they can't even make a good enough ghost to help you tell the difference.

Don't waste your time, but if you want to watch it ... Read More

I had to watch this film once, visit the IMDb and read all I could from other folks attempting to explain it, then watch it again before arriving at a score of nine. The first viewing left me bewildered. The Spider Forest is a place where the souls of those who die alone or unloved live in limbo, as spiders, until someone remembers them. That's a cool premise. The Spider Forest is also the cobwebbed memories each of us navigate as we attempt to deal with trauma, guilt, shame, etc. Maybe.

This is one of those Korean films which could not exist or be told in linear narrative. There are shots and scenes that come out of nowhere and seem not to touch anything around them until much later in the movie. This can be very frustrating. So why watch it again? As one can imagine, these out-of-nowhere scenes look ... Read More

Listen, The Eye 2 is actually a fairly good movie, but if you've never seen it before and you click on the preview button to watch a short clip of the movie all you see is the opening credits. Does Amazon think people who are on the fence about renting this movie are going to say, "Oh ... I'm sure this movie will be great, just look at who the director of photography is!"

If you're going to offer a preview clip, offer a preview clip from somewhere inside the movie. The credits are absolutely worthless.

I'm not a big fan of Asian horror films, but I think I'm starting to grow on them. Recently, I watched "Shutter," "Ringu," and now "Gin Gwai" a.k.a. "The Eye." This is a truly scary experience. The scariest moments are only a few, but they're quite effective (try getting on an elevator after watching this film). The actors are pretty good, and the music is intense. And the ending is quite disturbing, so you've been warned.

I haven't seen the American remake with Jessica Alba, and I'm sure I won't ever see that one.
