I like this as a classic musical. The songs fit well with the dialogue and story. The costumes are incredible. This has always been a favorite remake of Pygmalion set to music.

I have enjoyed The Ghost and Mrs. Muir for many years. I never tire of watching. It transports me back to a more gentle time. I use George Sanders character's traits in one of my books. A good cup of hot tea and a quiet time of viewing this movie is an excellant way to spend an afternoon. I now own this DVD so I can watch anytime I choose which is a luxury.

An impressive film that should be in any film buff's library. The scenery, acting and story are very well done. Some license is taken with the lives of both Michelangelo and Pope Julius II. However, the acting and exchanges between Heston as Michelangelo and Rex Harrison as Julius II is superb. Introduction to the film provides important views and impressions of the Vatican setting and the spectacular creation of the famous ceiling painted by Michelangelo. A must see film.

I loved this movie when I was a kid and now my kids get to fall in love with it too. It is a classic!!

If you really want to know what went on between these two rent or buy HBO's excellent "Rome" series. Their rendition of Cleo is a short,plain, 32A-cup, homely little drug addict with a realllly bad haircut! That she captures the lust of both Caesar and Marc even though no one might look at her even once on the street is testimony to how "hot" she must be in bed. Contrast this to Liz Taylor who is as white as snow, aging and fairly fat (OK voluptuous to those in the same weight catagory.) Not only was the obvious display of cleavage distracting but I couldn't get over the eye makeup! Must have taken hours...for one eye...and just think how comfortable it would be if some of that glitter fell in her eyes! Inthe Rome series, their little Cleo gets by without any makeup until ... When I saw this movie as a kid, it was billed as a murder mystery, and I recall being so horrified as Rex Harrison planned and executed his fiendish and ghastly perfect crime that I wanted to leave the movie theatre; and then when the entire scenario was turned on its head as Harrison actually put what turned out to be a figment of his musical imagination into action--or made a bungling effort to do so--I was very glad I had not left. My sides ached from tear-splashed laughter then, and they still do every time I watch this gem of a film.
