I found this DVD to be very enjoyable. It kept my attention during the entire movie. I also enjoyed the documentaries included which told about what EVP and white noise are and was able to hear real EVP's. I especially liked the 2nd one that showed a couple taking EVP's at an haunted house. I give this movie 5 stars!!!

I won't bore you with the details. The story is kind of thin and predictable at times, but with enough foreshadowing, you see what's coming. The gratuitous scenes of Arnold getting the crap beaten of him (almost), leading up to the payoff conclusion, is great for those who hate seeing the hero take so long to exact revenge. In the end, the scumbag Columbian terrorist and his wife get their "just desserts." Ahhh...revenge is so sweet - Served up by our hero: The Governor of Kah-lee-fornya

This DVD is well paced, well made and informative for the individual who is new to the history of James Dean. I enjoyed the tone and visual aesthetic of this DVD and thought it fair and slightly sentimental (in a positive manner) on the subject of the man behind the persona. It concentrates on his 3 films and of his search for artistic freedom, and the overwhelming will of his free spirit. This DVD only interviewed those who actually knew James Dean, instead of a third party he said, she said situation. There is no question that these people interviewed cared deeply for him. I took away that James Dean was a maven of artistry in all forms, that he maintained a true understanding of people and life and that he was a contradictory, tender, and strong human being--almost beyond himself. Hello, you should think twice to make a dvd with english subtiles or closed captioned for the deaf to understand the movie....you only made spanish subtiles, so it really insult the deafies without the english subtiles or closed captioned. I think that movie is good, but I completely don't understand what it is TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you don't care about deafies, get a LIFE!

Its shameful that these sellers are selling the DVD for 50 bucks(that's the least amount). DON'T BUY IT FOR THAT PRICE. As much as i love this movie, its worth 30 bucks the most if you're a fan. If not, or if you never saw it, its worth between 2-5 bucks and no more. I love this movie. i use to watch it dozens of times as a kid. Its not a well made movie. If it wasn't for nostalghia, it might not have an audience. I still own this on VHS and would gladly buy the DVD. But I'm not a sucker and no one should pay these prices for it. It's disgusting.

As an artist, I'm often frustrated by the way artists are romanticized in movies. Few films actually manage to get it right. This isn't one of them. That's not to say it is lacking in charm. The movie is full of beautiful scenery. In fact, if the whole story were edited out, it would be a better film. There are lush tropical forests, waterfalls, beaches...and part of the film takes place in France, rendered with equal style. The plot features the early life of Gauguin up to the point where he decides to sail for Tahiti, interspersed with scenes that happen after he gets there in a complex, rather annoying format that disrupts continuity possibly to make a point about the differences between Tahiti and France.
