I always liked this movie, but it seemed over-edited, like there was too much missing. It turns out there was, and with this 10th Anniversary DVD release, Disney finally fixed those problems with storyline and emotional impact, notably with the inclusion of the duet "If I Never Knew You." I hadn't seen this movie since the VHS release, which didn't look good: the bright colors bled into each other on tape. Apparently, the earlier DVD release wasn't that great, either. But THIS release shows just how gorgeous this film really is: the colors are simply amazing, and the widescreen shows how striking the background art is (the design for the forest scenes reminds me of "Sleeping Beauty," with a lot of vertical/horizontal contrast used.) Notwithstanding historical inaccuracies (and there are many), this was great entertainment. I usually watch a DVD at home over the course of 2-3 nights, but I could not turn this one off, and watched the whole thing (nearly 3 hours) in one sitting. Such a great story and wonderful acting, scenery, etc.

After seeing Olivier's version of Hamlet, I was interested in seeing this version of Hamlet. Admittedly, Mel Gibson was one-hundred percent of my impulse to see this film. I don't usually follow actors when choosing movies; I trust directors more than I trust actors in choosing movies. But Mel Gibson is an exception to this rule: when was the last time the man made a bad movie?-- I can't even think of one. With this said, I rented this movie and watched it with growing delight and amazement. As always, Mel was Mel--great. Glen Close--great. Again, another classic movie that will be around for a while. It's touching, real and gives personal insight into the lives of the people portrayed in this based- on true life movie. Excellent war movie and a must-see for people that like war movies.

Great Movies. As a package together, a great value. I usually only watch the films, & seldom the 'extra' stuff, so the extra was not really missed. Makes for a great Saturday morning film festival without the commentator or the commercials.

Mad Max is one of the best post-apocolyptic films of all time, exceeded only by a few films, including it's own sequel (The Road Warrior or Mad Max 2, depending on where you're from). Full of great stunts and plenty of action, this film influences to this day. This vesion includes a few extras which you will enjoy if you are a fan of the series.
