this movie drags after the first act. the movie feels like its 4 or five hours long. so its amazing to me that they recut the movie to make it longer. many people have commented that this movie is PC becasue the white men are bad guys and the native americans are noble savages. I completely disagree. Instead, I see it as the Indians are in trouble and cant find buffalo or fight off the neighbor tribes until the magic white man comes in and shows them how its done. so dont buy this movie if you want to be entertained. or teach history. or show any sort of flattering view of native americans. this is pulp escapist fantasy - I would catagorize it with early 20th century pulp with a dash of late 20th century.

I missed most of the episodes of Nero Wolfe that aired on A & E, and sadly A & E is no longer running it, so I was so glad to get the complete series on video. The shows were really well done. The characters are true to the book, and the sets are similar to what I envisioned as I read the books. Everything from the whimsical opening credits to the lush photography is a feast for the eye and ears. I would highly reccommend this video series to murder mystery fans.

If you are looking for a roller coaster ride with popcorn, watch the Messenger, which isn't a bad movie but a wildly innacurate one. If you want to see a film that blends history with action, "Joan of Arc" is your movie. Not perfect, but far more realistic, with Leelee looking and acting a lot more like the teen-age Joan than others have. This doesn't rush through the story as the Messenger does, and doesn't portray her as the gibbering fanatic the other movie does. Joan was always convinced God spoke to her (no matter what the reality was), but she was rational about it, keenly intelligent, and remarkably astute - not the behavior of a raving loon or someone affected by schizophrenia. She also hated violence, only seeing it as necessary to throw the English out of France, and wept openly during battles she participated ... Read More

Don Cheadle had the best lines. But the casting of Jennifer Beals and her makeup was a huge mistake, ruined the plot. I had read the book & as soon as she appeared I thought WTF. Imagine her as a blonde and it makes more sense.

I like Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones, she looked great in this film before having kids. This is a nerve-racking game of cat and mouse game with a great cast of supporting actors. I read the Blu-Ray reviews and once Amzon had a good sale I picked in up for less than I paid for the DVD. The picture quality is very good and sound isn't bad either. It a nice film, good action, and they don't have to blow everything in the world up to may it interesting. If you liked the movie, find a sale on Amazon and add it to you Blu-Ray collection. It will not be a master blu-ray to show off to your friends, but it's of better quality that a lot of other releases.

I remember seeing this movie at the theater - went with a friend who, I knew, had an odd sense of humor, so I was ready for just about anything. I wasn't ready for Louis DePalma meets the Terminator, though! The stop-you-in-your-tracks oddity of big, buff Arnold as the twin of altitudinally challenged, less than buff Danny was just the beginning. Not a deep movie - certainly no "Brave New World" - but a really fun trip. My two youngest (teenage boys) loved this movie, even though it was recommended by Mom.
