Wrath of the Dragon is definitely an alternate storyline. However this is the case because it is directly linked to the Trunks storyline. Without giving a spoiler, you find out the origin of the sword that Trunks carries in the series. In the manga which gives more details, young Trunks, in his timeline, defeated the monster at a very high cost to the planet. Of course, this movie is the "what if" Goku survived after Majin Boo and faced the monster.

In recent years, FUNimation, who has begun to release countless anime titles spanning various genres, has gone back to the franchise that made them big - Dragon Ball Z. They have gone back and begun releasing the series and the films in inexpensive season sets and double features.

This double feature combines the two television specials of the Z series - Bardock: The Father of Goku, and The History of Trunks.

Bardock: The Father of Goku takes place around the time Kakarotto (eventually renamed Goku) is born on Planet Vegeta. Bardock leads a Saiyan batallion that goes around conquering planets for Frieza. Following a successful mission, though, Bardock receives a tragic gift/curse from one of its inhabitants - the ability to see the future. Through this mysterious ... Read More

Frieza, in all his foolishness, let the young Goku escape in a Saiyan spacepod during his battle with Bardock. Looking from afar was his brother, Cooler, who let the Saiyan child live stating that he would be Frieza's eventual downfall. He couldn't have been more correct...

Now that the tyrant Frieza has finally fallen, Cooler has arrived on Earth looking for Goku in order to seek revenge. Goku is not able to stand up to Cooler's initial assault, so now it's up to Gohan and all his friends to protect him until he can recover and summon the Super Saiyan strength he needs to finally defeat Cooler.

I thought this was a great Dragonball Z movie, and one of the best ones overall. Goku is injured early on in the film, which takes much of the focus off of him and places it ... Read More

The story of Trunks and Bardock are two great side episodes. If you are a fan of Dragon Ball Z and you haven't watched this, you must get this. However do not watch this before Dragon Ball Z Season 4 Boxset. People who never watched Dragon Ball should start out with Dragon Ball Z Season 1 Boxset. In terms of format I can't say that there is an advantage between blu ray version over the dvd version. I didn't get a feeling I was watching blu ray but I guess I can't expect too much since this is a classic.

Broly: Blu-Ray Double Feature

INTRODUCTION:
The Dragon Ball Z series is one of the finest animes out there, as any fan of Japanese animation will tell you. The series has a "love it or hate it" reputation, but those fans who get into the series are totally immersed by it for a number of reasons. Young people love the series for the fast-paced action and adventure, while older fans enjoy it for the sheer number of characters, and the way they are developed and evolve over the course of time. It's no wonder the series is considered Akira Toriyama's magnum opus, and by far the best of the three Dragon Ball series. When Toei animation made Dragon Ball into an anime, they didn't copy Toriyama's mangas verbatim. They added in many sagas and plot elements not in the manga, often as a result ... Read More

I am a huge fan of the Dragon Ball Z show, these videos are a must for anyone who likes a little extra action and can't get enough of the total non-stop adventure from Goku and friends.
I loved the video, it is compared to the most creative cartoons around.

This volume of Dual! gives an up-close and personal look at Miss Ra. All three episodes are pretty devoted to plot development and an exploration of the parallel world and the artifact. We learn a lot more about the Rara army and family. And, once again, there's a cliff-hanger ending. Overall, an excellent volume. Highly recommended.

DVD : Dual - Trouble Adventure - One Vision (Vol. 4)
Has I have watched more and more dvd titles produced by pioneer,I have come to expect one thing, it being solid. There is nothing wrong with being solid. While Pioneer hasn't produced anything spectular like Cowboy Bebop, or Neon Genesis, I am constantly amazed how much I still enjoy title's by Pioneee, like Trigun, Tenchi Muyo, serial Experiment Lain. Dual Trouble Vision is no different. In the final dvd One Vision the series comes to an end at episode 13, but it has an extra OVA in episode 14. In this installement of the series finally some question on answered about why Kazuki is in one world but not the other, and some answers about the orgin of D. Overall the animation is what you would expect from something produced by Pioneer, solid. Noticing a common theme. But haveing said that the more important ... Read More
