I have always enjoyed this film, and make it a point to watch it at least once a year, usually around the holidays. It's not a family film, so it is definitely not something you'll want to watch with small children present. The theatrical version contains some language which might be objectionable to viewers of any age.

The story itself is very basic -- there's nothing complex to remember. It's simply a story of a man trying to get home in time for Thanksgiving dinner, only to have every transportation option work against him. The twist is that he teams up with a complete stranger in their quest to get to where they need to be. It's in this vain that the unfortunate but often hilarious events take place. The comedy in this film runs from a chuckle to side-splitting laughter. Things ... Read More

It's the story of a man, who through a series of misunderstandings and coincidences becomes a victim of a spy and espionage set-up. When you first watch North By Northwest you may think, it's a very entertaining movie and nothing beyond that. Actually it is an extremely entertaining story and nothing beyond that. And it is one of the greatest examples of the genius of Hitchcock! He's the only director I know who could take a story as trivial and create such a mood of place and character, that every scene is successful in tone, mood and creative scene development. I feel like I've been put in a slight hypnotic state every time I see it. It is the bible of narrative for the action and spy genre. And I believe set the tone for the Bond films, which have never equalled it!

Wild Hogs is about four now-middle-aged friends whose one indulgence is their weekly motorcycle ride. Doug (Tim Allen) is a dentist with high cholesterol who hasn't been on a vacation in years. Bobby (Martin Lawrence) has taken a year off his job as a plumber to write a self-help book that still isn't finished, and his wife has just arranged for him to get his old job back. Dudley (William H. Macy) is a computer programmer who can't get a date... because he freezes around women. And Woody (John Travolta) is the one they all think has it all--a gorgeous model for a wife and a high-powered job.

But Woody's wife has left him, and he's lost his job, and he's broke. So he comes up with the idea for the four of them to take a cross-country bike trip.

The first half of the movie is just pure fun ... Read More

Hilarious journey of one possessive father letting go off his beloved daughter. The things people go through to show how much they care. Dad is both endearing and nuts all at once and the family pet fits right in the equation.

My 3 year old son loves this movie. He first saw it at his daycare, so I had to get it for him. There's music, singing and "goofy" things going on amidst a good father/son story. The only thing I found a little off-putting is the reference to the "electric chair" . Try explaining that to your kids. So far, my son hasn't asked...

This is a great movie. It may not be a movie that was created for young children, but young children may still like this movie. This movie is very funny, it has many great songs in it, and the cast of the movie is also great. If you are someone like me, an adult but a young kid at yeart, you will probably find that this movie is very good and entertaining.

This man has cracked up generations of audiences, his humour is not so much acidic as `to the point' or right on the button funny. A slick production, a peak into the legends life, even the outtakes are hilarious ...Jules Verdel (?) Anthony Quin and even the fight for the best cabin....informative and heartfelt....some very funny stuff here, recommended

"Person" by Demetri Martin is a brilliant, intelligent, and very low-key stand up routine captured in a cable special, and now available on DVD. The DVD is short (around 40 minutes), but filled with gems. My only serious complaint about the DVD is that there are several previews at the beginning of the disc that you can't skip. Since I paid for the DVD, I resent having to watch ads for stuff I would never in a million years be interested in buying. Once the show starts, though, all is well.

Martin is known for using a guitar extensively during his monologues; here he also adds piano and bells to his act, and all help to produce a seamless and very funny show. The material is all over the map, from observations about linguistics and personal injury ("The easiest time to add insult to injury is when you're signing somebody's cast."), ... Read More
