This is a truly wonderful film. It exposes us to the fight that women endured to obtain the right to vote. Historically speaking it is very accurate with a little bit of Hollywood thrown in of course. The female cast is outstanding and I found myself cheering at the end even though I knew the outcome. This is must see movie for anyone interested in American history and especially the history that is hidden from us - female history. Enjoy! Cheer! Share the triumph of women's suffrage.

Wish the stories tied in some - some worked some a little obscure or tried too hard to be creative

Moving story about not only a woman who gets thrown into rehab, but also who has repressed her feelings, her life and finds herself maturing into an adult after drinking her younger life away. When she first gets into rehab, it's not only a typical scene that one might see in a rehab facility, but also one where, since the stunting of her emotional, responsible and relationship senses are that of a young, out of control child who raised herself. Through the movie, she learns how to be alive, how to be sensitive, that the man she thought was so great for her isn't at all and why, and she gets the beginnings of how to grow, get in touch with not only her feelings, but learns what is not good for her and to walk away. She learns to ask for help from those who are healthy and to walk from those who are not, ... Read More

Dave Stevens graphic novel -- an obvious tip of the hat to Republic serial classics such as RADAR MEN ON THE MOON and KING OF THE ROCKETMEN -- this wonderfully entertaining film in a summer when TERMINATOR 2 sucked up all the box office oxygen. Too bad, nice performances by Bill Campbell as a barn storming pilot in 1938, Alan Arkin as his sidekick mechanic, the lovely (and very young) Jennifer Connolly as the girl friend, Paul Sorvino as a gangster, and ex-James Bond Timothy Dalton as an Errol Flynn type as a Nazi! (The latter probaby influnced by a book in the 1980's that claimed that Flynn was a Nazi agent.) Though it sank at the box office, I highly recommend this delightful romp which even has a Rondo Hatton henchman and a grand finale on a dirgible!

and one of Gene Hackman's greatest performances. The man is so real, and the character so believable, you'd think Hackman were the character. Except he isn't, because the character is a hackman, while Hackman is an extraordinary actor.

Probably Cruise's best performance, better than in "Color of Money". Garey Busey does a perfect turn, and Holly Hunter get's to vamp.

The only film in which I've seen Triplehorn -- a beauty, and is the equal of Cruise in this (in performance; I don't think of Crusie as a beauty).

You'll like it. Cruise actually performs instead of posing for the camera.

A wonderful film about very human experiences...I don't think anyone can watch this film without identifying with some or even all of the characters...People trying to do the best they can as they cope with this very confusing yet wonderful thing we call LIFE...
Morgan Freeman shows how even the most wise and wonderful among us have problems that are so very difficult to sumount...Yet the marriage he and the wondeful Jane Alexander share shows that with the passage of time love even becomes more romantic.
I love the line..."God doesn't hate us. If he did he would not have made our hearts so strong"
I believe no one can watch this film without being a better and wiser person for having experienced it...
It shows great courage and wisdom in the face of tragedy...There are no villians here, only stuggling ... Read More
