I thought this was the new live action movie that came out. It's a bad time to have this on sale. The unbox version also seems to have only 2 arcs. Maybe half of what you get on the DVD.
Bad deal in every way. Avoid this. I rented the Unbox for Tivo

I just let a review for the other volume that I have (I have all of them) and so I am not going to tell the whole story again, but if anyone wants to read it just go check out his reviews for volume 3 I believe and you can read it. However, I will state that these dvds that he is selling are in great shape and wonderful quality and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to buy the Speed Racer series.

I do not know if you can tell how long someone has watched an item, but if you could you would know that I have been watching all of your dvd's since I knew that they where sold on Amazon. It has been about a year that I have waited trying to get the money saved up tp buy them all at once, and I am so excited to say that it was well worth the wait. The quality and condition of the videos where awesome. I would recommend anyone who wants to buy the Speed Racer tv series to do so from this seller.

Mobile Suit Gundam is a classic of the giant robot genre, and has always been closer to science-fiction than other shows that treat the robots as superheroes. "08th MS Team" is the culmination of the military/science fiction approach. For the first time we see the Gundams presented as complex machines that can not only be damaged, but break down and suffer mechanical problems. The heroes are the average soldiers who have to pilot these vehicles in the One Year War, and they can make mistakes too.

Shiro Amada is the protagonist, and he's older and a little more mature than Amuro Rae was in the original series. He's full of angst, but that's because he's met and fallen in love with an enemy mobile suit pilot and he's suddenly realized that the Zeons and the Federation aren't as different ... Read More

DVD : Gatchaman Collection 8 (Vols. 15 & 16)
...if you have never watched Gatchaman in your life and you like Japanese Animation ala Anime, you owe it to yourself to check this one out. I love old 1970's Anime like the original Mobile Suit Gundam and Gatchaman. If you have watched Battle of the Planets in the past man it doesn't compare. Battle of the Planets was an extremely watered down-made for kids version of Gatchaman. The series does not contain nudity or anything like that, but the uncut ones show people getting killed--lots of them per episode. Vol. 8 is the most intense of the series because the Science Ninja Team actually get defeated and their base gets destroyed by the evil Galactor. Check them out. You will not be disappointed. BTW-they are dubbed superbly in English, and also have Japanese original audio with subtitles. Tons of extras ... Read More

if you're in for the story, i recommend watching this only for closure. especially if you sat through the whole double zeta series like i did.

i really wish they would've at least given this a mini series to add more depth to the story. also, i really wish they would get rid of the horrible teenage girl characters that just distract you from the real story and add frustration and embarassment for the way these characters act.

it seems that this movie almost ignored everything that happened after the original gundam series and acts as a direct sequel. char ends up looking like a yuppie and amuro barely looks any different at all.

i'm taking a break from the universal century after this disappointment and i'll watch gundam wing.
