Like another reviewer has already asked, why were the Atlantans so upset and surprised when they heard the lyrics to "Let's Impeach the President?" Was this particular evening the first time that these concert-goers had ever bothered to listen to the lyrics of this band's songs?

I've been a fan of this band from their beginning and I don't recall many albums released by the band or the individual members that did not contain left-leaning politically-tinged material so why the shock from the folks at this particular concert? Do the radio stations in Atlanta only play "Heart of Gold" and "Southern Cross" buy not "For What Its Worth" or "Military Madness?"

Even Lynyrd Skynyrd knew where Neil Young was coming from when he sang songs like "Southern Man" and "Alabama" ... Read More

Elizabeth (Kim Bassinger) works at a trendy art gallery in New York City. She meets John (Mickey Rourke), a mysterious, wealthy stranger, and they begin a torrid affair. He's into game playing; he likes to tell her what to do and she does it, even when it scares her. He wants to control her in every way and she lets him...for nine and a half weeks.

When this came out in 1986, it was considered shocking; today one can see almost this much sensuality on TV and certainly in many movies so its impact has diminished. The steamy, dangerous, erotic night scenes contrast nicely with the cold, sterile day scenes of Elizabeth's work. The photography is striking with costumes and sets in stark black and white and close-ups designed to heighten our sensory awareness. Bassinger and Rourke are well-cast but I ... Read More

Yes, it's a funny premise: Elvis is living in a nursing home with a resident who thinks he's JFK and another who fancies himself the Lone Ranger. In the meantime, an ancient Egyptian demon wants to suck the souls out of the old and sickly folks, so it's up to Elvis and Jack to stop the demon.
Bruce Campbell and Ossie Davis are great. But somehow, the story lacks the sense of urgency that a horror tale should have, and although there are many funny lines, it could have been stronger comedically. The writer/director also seems to borrow heavily from the works of the Raimi brothers and their friends the Coen Brothers instead of being more original.
Okay for a few laughs, but not as good as it might have been.

I'm sure there are better reviews than mine but I had to warn anyone who is thinking of watching this..or worse, buying it, that it is literally in my top 100 worst films ever made. There is one stupid after another. In fact, one cannot attach a single positive word to this film. The silliest thing in the entire film, and there are many, is having the shark growl. I cannot believe that the fool who directed this actually got funding.

OK, first off I would like to say that if your like me and don't like watching horror films where the bad guys win, none of them die, and they all kill everyone like they did in the movies "Rest Stop" and "No Country For Old Men". I would very, very, highly, higly reccomend seeing this movie then the Devils Rejects (sequal to this movie) one after the other.

Now on to my review of this movie. It was good, but not geat and it wasn't near as good as Rob Zombies version of Halloween. His is so much better then John Carpenter's and it would be nice to also see Rob Zombie do a remake of the second Halloween. House of A Thousand Corpses is basically a movie about this medical assistant or actual doctor known as doctor (Oatis) Saiten who would torcher people to death. Then after Dr. Saiten got fired he torchered ... Read More

Picture this. Ben Richards (Schwarzenegger) is on chopper patrol when an order comes through to fire into an area where inoccent citizens stand. The order of course is obsured, and Richards declines, aborting the mission when his superior passes on orders to Richards' co-pilots to take control of the craft and resume the mission. In a struggle to do what is right, Richards attempts to to keep his co-pilots away from the controls, but fails in doing so as he is simply outmaned. About a year or two later, enter the game show "The Running Man." On the screen in front of a large live audience, we see the events that night of Richards aboard the chopper. The order comes through to not fire, as there are simply too many innocents in the area. Richards defies orders and proceeds to shoot down a number of innocents and destroy ... Read More

I came across this movie by accident years ago on tv and fell in love...so I finally bought it and have watched it several times over now. If you like 1960's NY themed movies you will love this one! And you will love the music!

I bought this movie because I thought that the HD would be a lot better than the regular DVD. Like many other HD and blu-ray movies I've seen, most of the scenes are not that much sharper than the regular DVD but the color and sound are better so I can't complain too much. I am also running these on a Sony 40" LCD which may have some to do with that.

This is a very satisfying murder Who-Dun-It. Jeff Bridges (the murder suspect) leads an unsuspecting lawyer (Glenn Close) into a labyrinth of lies and love in a story you will say sounds familiar.

A beautiful divorced lawyer, highly respected, Teddy Barnes (Close) falls for her client, Jack Forrester (Bridges) while defending him on a murder wrap. Jack is handsome, rich and smart, with charm to spare. Teddy agrees to defend him. Jack is accused of murdering his wife with a jagged edge knife. Jack is adamant he is innocent and did not put a knife to his wife's guts - he wants the best lawyer to prove he did not do it. Teddy is highly recommended. She reluctantly takes the case, however once involved, Teddy is completely convinced of his innocence.

The mystery deepens as Teddy's love and doubt ... Read More
