This was another incredible Deal of the Day! I was able to purchase the entire series in a collector's edition boxed set for less than $100! It was also nice to receive my purchase in less than a week. Outstanding!!!! ;)

My granddaughter loves this movie and I finally watched it. Enjoyed it so much I think I have watched it at least 4-5 times since then. Amazing how they worked the Beatles songs into this movie. Across the Universe (Two-Disc Special Edition)

After watching the first season of the west wing, I immediately went out and bought everything that Aaron Sorkin has ever written! The writing is witty, funny, and fast-paced. The camera work is unique, and the story is intense. I love the west wing series, and the first season was one of the bests (and hard to top). Any political junkie will love it! Enjoy!

When I first saw Twilight in 1998 I knew I was watching a valuable classic. We need a few more like Twilight these days to add intelligence that recent movies with action and adventure lack. We need less high-tech-special-affects and more intriguing dialogue which includes humor, wit and wisdom that Twilight provides in abundance. Listing the cast only was enough for me to go see the film : Paul Newman, Gene Hackman, Susan Sarandon, James Garner, Stockard Channing, and with a supporting cast of not-so-well-known actors who add to Twilight's appeal. I saw this movie for the first time more than a year ago. I've forgotten the storyline, the incidents, the details. But the sheer EXPERIENCE of watching the movie lingers in my heart. There are westerns that are grander (John Ford), more stylish (Sergio Leone), more sophisticated (Anthony Mann); but to me Shane is the most beautiful, the most affecting, the most luminous. It is among the most beautiful movies ever made. The longer time passes without me re-watching it, the greater it looms in my consciousness. I guess that's the mark of a true work of art; it takes root in some part of your soul, and grows over time. I hope the studio releases a better DVD transfer than the one we have here, whose image quality is less than optimal.

Good-natured, family-oriented comedy about a clumsy ape man who lives in the jungle amongst the animals and never seems able to stop crashing into trees. During a safari, he encounters a beautiful damsel in distress (Mann) and immediately falls in love with her. Despite their differences in lifestyles, he leaves his beloved jungle and travels to the big city where he tries to win her affections and adapt to civilization. It more ways than one this inherently goofy, episodic film resembles an extended television series with zany characters and a predictable setup, but it's smart, funny, and the gags are right on target. Fraser, never more likable, is perfectly cast, aided by a sly narrator and an over-the-top Cleese who really scores as the voice of ape.
