If you're a Girls Next Door fan like I am, purchase this DVD! I bought a used copy which didn't contain the third disk, so I missed the last episode as well as the "goodies" such as the photo gallery. Nonetheless, I can't complain about my purchase, hours of couch potato fun watching the antics of the three girls and Hef - and just for the record - I watch the show for the costumes, not the articles. ; )

So, this is actually a pretty good show. I don't usually like shows like this, and this is the only one on E! I actually find interesting at all, and I happily skipped, Snoop Dog's Fatherhood, Keeping Up With the Kardashian's, Denise Richards, etc, but I saw this on TV one day and thought it was actually pretty good entertainment. To my surprise I've purchased and enjoyed Season's 1, 2, and 3, and there is nothing bad about them, they are great sets, and can't wait for this one to be released as I'm sure it'll be a great buy. Nothing amazing here, just a really interesting Film.I really cant call it a serious documentary on the business of Pussy for sale. But some interesting characters. You just got to love " Bishop Don Magic Juan " A lot of these men's ideas will feel Alien to most of us but it's interesting to hear and see there unique perspective on life and women and the Society that condemns them but is love with the Product they sell.Some of the dialogue is priceless as are some of the intimate moments between the girls and there Employers.I think the great Fillmore Slim sums it up quite eloquently " pussy always gonna sell, even when cotton and corn don't " .

Let me say "I really was looking forward to seeing this movie and wanted to like it." That being said "If I was grading it, I'd give it a C minus." The House Bunny is an Adam Sandler produced comedy that sounded great when I saw it as a trailer in the movie theater. Cameos by assorted big-name athletes and Hugh Hefner with The Girls Next Door, combined with a true underdog story with a happy ending. It should've been great... but it wasn't. Poor acting and inconsistent character development and humor made it tough to watch to the end. And yes, it did remind me of 'Legally Blonde', but to make that comparison is an insult to Reese Witherspoon and the great job she did with that movie. Maybe a cameo by Sandler would have helped? This appears to be a TV series that was assembled on DVD and marketed a single, lengthy entity. Because of that, there is extensive repetition of both footage and narrative dialogue. It consists mainly of trailers, and omits much of the classic horror catalog in favor of lesser films. It has very little educational value, with the exception of some talking head comments from people actually involved in the original creation process of the films themselves. With that said, it is still worth the price because of it's 12.5 hour running time. That's a lot of entertainment for less than $20. In addition, let's face it, Chris Lee fans would watch him read a telephone book, and there is plenty of Mr. Lee here.

I rented this DVD locally, primarily for the stills of playmates over the last 50 years. Unfortunately, this is the weakest link of this project. While the stills are comprehensive (you do get a picture of every Playmate since the first issue) they are not given enough pixilation to make it possible to enlarge them with the zoom on your DVD player. Even a first level of zoom makes the picture clearly digitized, with frustrating loss of detail; second or third levels make it even worse. Also, the enlargement is often of the part of the overall photo that is least interesting to the viewer, depending on the portrait involved. To wit, you might wind up with a nicely enlarged view of some part of the Playmate that you are least interested in, while the rest of her is offscreen. First, you should buy this DVD ONLY if you were a teen in the late 60s and can remember what Playboy stood for back then. I'm sure this DVD has the same relevance to anyone who didn't grow up in that era as the DVDs of the Honeymooner's TV Series does for the parent's of the Baby Boomer.
