"Good Luck Chuck" is a one-joke movie and that joke is not that funny. Because of the spell cast on him while he was a ten-year-old boy, Charlie Logan is eternally prevented from finding true love. He discovers that all the women he slept with will get married happily after dumping him. This is a kind of joke (or perhaps a real-life episode) you may hear at some party. You may find it pretty amusing, but you soon forget it. Somehow the filmmakers tried to develop the idea into a feature-length film in the wrong way. This is a great movie about the struggles of early Black Americans and a virtually unknown chapter of their history. Danny Glover did a wonderful job portraying an Army officer at the time - a great leader to his men, even while being forced to be submissive to equal and higher ranking white officers. We were excited about the G rating and the opportunity to share this movie with our family ages 2-11, but were shocked when not too far into it we were blasted with language, hangings (of children nonetheless), torture, and other acts of violence. We turned it off and finished watching it later after the kids were in bed, only to discover more of the same, as well as four nude men covered in blood. The G rating is absolutely incorrect. There were fair criticisms of this Mystery installment on PBS. All came from author Hillerman's fans, as Skinwalkers is one of his finest books in the series, full of atmosphere and Navaho tradition. Produced by Robert Redford on a PBS budget, this mystery featuring Navaho Tribal Police Officer Joe Leaphorn and the younger Jim Chee, struggling to find a balance between ancient tradition and modern ways, is actually very good if you can separate it from all the expectations from readers. This movie was a definite thriller, and because we're living in the 20th century, this movie was believable since it dealt with cheating internet style. I had never heard of this movie and was quite surprised at the great performances by two actors i'd never seen/heard of before. This movie will teach you to be careful who you Instant Message, and also should let wives know that sometimes your husband needs to just talk to you too! Great Thriller from beginning to end! Don't let the actors/actresses names fool you, this is one to see-if you liked Fatal Attraction, or The Net, you're in for a treat!

Le Jaguar is Francis Veber's throwback to 50s-60s on-location comedy adventures, meaning there's not much comedy and not much adventure but the casting and production values carry you along regardless. Patrick Bruel needs to get out of Paris when his gambling debts are sold to East European gangsters, so agrees to go with Jean Reno's environmental activist to the Amazon to find a local chief's soul (long story) only to discover his real self in between being possessed by the spirit of the chief. In truth there's not much going on here, but it's still an enjoyable movie with some very impressive location work and some of the best aerial photography I've ever seen - Veber has an impressive visual sense of scale, and the film never looks less than gorgeous.
