Now this film is a bit on the odd ball side, it is funny, and I like it, I don't think it was Oscar worthy, but then I didn't think the Movie "Babe" ( the pig one ) was best Movie and it won, "Apollo 13" was much better for that yrs Oscar, but Hollywod didn't want Tom Hanks to have 3 in a row..politics...lol Anyway as I was saying it's a cute film but NOT for kids.....The "F" word is used a lot.

Far from being "hilarious" as some misguided reviewers have stated, this film has a few mildly amusing moments and little else. The script was not as sharp as it should have been - the "jokes" seemed flat and lackluster. Steve Martin and Sigourney Weaver were not particularly funny either. The two female leads tried valiantly to salvage this material but didn't quite succeed. Overall, not a total waste of time but pretty darn close.

I have not seen the orginal version of this movie, so I cannot comment on this as a remake, but I do like this movie. There doesn't seem to be much chemisty between the two main characters, so when they fall in love, it doesn't seem that believable, but almost everything else about this film is engaging. It's an enjoyable movie to watch and most of the characters are interesting in their own right and well-played by the actors.

I ordered this DVD based on the praise in the reviews, because I wanted a DVD that showed how the the war in Vietnam with the North actually was. I was not disappointed. Mel Gibson, who played the part of Lt. Col Hal Moore did an excellent job. And the Producers, and the Director, Randall Wallace, produced and directed an outstanding movie. They did an excellent job of depicting the scenes as they actually happened, or as close as possible. And the inclusion of the Wives and Families was a brilliant addition. These Ladies need all the recognition they can get---they are too often neglected in movies and especially in real life.

As a huge football fan--and because I very much remember, and watched, Vince Papale play--I so wanted to like INVINCIBLE. And what's not to like? A hometown, down-on-his-luck, thirtysomething ex-jock getting a shot to play in the NFL is mega-inspiring. . .or should be. But this film misses the mark, and fails to connect. Why?

Mark Wahlberg plays Papale as a silent, brooding man; when his wife leaves him, he sits in his empty apartment and broods; when the pressures of making the Philadelphia Eagles' roster mount, he sits in the stands and broods; he broods in the bar where he works; he broods on the stoops of his father's flat; he broods in his dorm room at training camp. Problem is, he's so aloof--to all the other characters, and to the audience--we never get to meet Vince Papale. Who is this ... Read More

This is a great movie. It is a great romantic comedy with the main character, played by Jack Nicholson, has OCD. It is sad/dramatic at times but overall it is pretty amusing. I think the best actor in the entire movie is the dog. The dog is just amazing. I absolutely love this movie and have watched it over a dozen times. It never gets old.

This movie was made in Savannah, Ga. If you saw Midnight In The Garden, you are already aware of the 'other' presence there of magic, obeah and other supernatural events. Ribisi is just incredible in this film. I really like this guy enormously. He gives 1000 percent in every performance. Ms. Blanchett shines as the gal with the gift. While the story is very over the top, all of the people depicted are right on. I did get a few phone calls from back home (Savannah) asking me if I had anything to do with this film inasmuch as I am known for having the gift, myself. Nope. Not a thing. But I did very much enjoy watching the film and understanding how difficult it is to be special in a small city. Seeing Katie Holmes topless was rather a shock, but this was before Tom came on the scene. Greg Kinnear gives a low ... Read More
