My son watches these over and over. Not sure why. I like them, and the content often has double-meanings for the entertainment of adults, but there's just something in the atmosphere of this show, the details, the energy, that please him to no end. These five discs include the last two years or so of the PW Herman Show, the format of which kept changing, but never the spirit. Pee Wee II is slicker and more complex, but it's as good as the first five-disc set, maybe better.

Very enjoyable movie. Inspiring and touches the heart with its story and its implications. I saw the movie 30 years ago and wanted to have it in my collection. A movie worth watching more than once.

Cheyenne Warrior: The Original Screenplay with Author Commentary Shadow Watcher Nobody Drowns in Mineral Lake If Eugene O'Neill had ever written a western, it might very well have played like this 1950 release, a beautifully photographed black-and-white drama that has all the elements of a Greek tragedy. Like so many of O'Neill's works (e.g. MOURNING BECOMES ELECTRA), the Anthony Mann-directed film, from a novel by Niven Busch, is overly talky. It doesn't really get interesting until the 2nd half when the action moves out of the drawing room onto the New Mexico plains. This is not as good as any of the other Mae West movies I have seen, but still worth watching.

Despite my "multi zone" dvd player I am unable to watch this film on my T.V, for reasons that I do not understand given that other American Zone 1 DVds (ie Meteor) work perfectly. Therefore I am somewhat disappointed.

B-A-R-B-A-R-O-S-A!!!!!!! The best, by far of the Willie Westerns. Both lead performances (Nelson & Busey) are what you would expect from each actor, yet at the same time over the top and flawless. A must have for any western fan even though it is pan-scan 4:3. Let us hope that we soon get a proper widescreen version, Please! (also from Director Fred Schepipi see "ICEMAN")

I was thinking about purchasing this DVD to add to our collection of best-loved movies. I hadn't seen it before today, but I've enjoyed Hemingway's novels and George C Scott's performances...so what could go wrong. Unfortunately much too much. Perhaps the story Hemingway attempted in this unfinished work is too big for the screen. With so much ground to cover, the filmmakers choose to eliminate too little and so by spreading their attention a mile wide have fashioned a movie paper thin... I can only guess that the original script was a lot more appealing than the picture we see. Otherwise why would Scott choose to do this after his success with Patton, The Hospital and They Might Be Giants.
