Forget about Capote's cynical novella and enjoy what a couple of master Hollywood craftsmen (Edwards and Axelrod) spin from it. It is pure 24 k Romantic gold. There has never been a more perfect date movie.
Hepburn was never more radiantly beautiful than in 61. And Peppard is quite a piece of male eye candy. Together they are the perfect Upper East Side New York dysfunctional couple: Physical perfection and infantile neurosis wrapped up in one beautiful Tiffany Blue box of a movie.

A superb restoration (on Blu-Ray) of what is a mediocre film. Not even all of the featured Hollywood stars could rescue this Disneyesque look at America's westward expansion. The most interesting thing was the documentary extra on the Cinerama process and how it influenced all subsequent films. This is how widescreen was born. But the use of Cinerama for this film makes many scenes look awkward, as the characters eyes don't quite meet in a number of scenes, since the camera used three lenses and the actors had to "guesstimate" where, exactly, the other actor would appear on the curved Cinerama screen. Closeups were also impossible. Cinerama was made for big, expansive scenes, of which HTWWW has many. The directors actually had to compose their shots based upon the camera's unique characteristics. While ... Read More

A great World War 1 classic aviation movie. The aerial combat footage, done without any computer virtual reality animation is quite spectacular. The acting, especially from the european cast was quite good.

Alfred Hitchcock Presents is a big batch of wonderfulness. I, like all other Hitchcock fans, zealously grabbed up the first three releases and have enjoyed them over and over again. But look, Universal...there was an implicit promise that we'd get one of these per year, right around Halloween. And you've dropped the ball with Season Four. You have an obligation to keep these coming until all of them, every season, every episode, are beautifully restored and available for collectors and murder-mystery fans. You owe it to Hitch!

Whatever the delay is, overcome it. Get these out, if possible faster.

And if you happen to be a shopper mulling over this purchase, I can't recommend it strongly enough. Alfred Hitchcock's wraparound segments are worth the price of admission alone. He's warm, darkly amusing, ... Read More

I loved it as a kid and I love it probably even more today. The friggin' A-Team, man!!! Anyone who grew up in the 80s knows the adventures of fugitive Vietnam vets, Hannibal, Face, B.A. and Murdock. It's a great memory and also a sad reminder of how lousy television shows are today. There is absolutely nothing like this on T.V. anymore. The A-Team do-gooders for hire, but it seems like they're always working Pro Bono. It makes you wonder how they make any money at all. The show is sorta like a mix of McGyver, Mission: Impossible and any given Cannon action film from the 80s.
Season One introduces us to the crew and sets them off on a series of adventures. They're pursued by Colonel Lynch, who just can't seem to get his hands on them(even when he does, he can't hold on to them!). A female reporter named Amy also joins the ... Read More

So ... I last saw BANACEK in my early teens. Now a vague memory. Yet this CD box set has it all there and I am sharing with my 16 yr old (youngest) daughter all the (sometimes) improbable plot lines. The world has changed a lot since the 1960s ... but this is an example of very good American television that still works today ... some 40 years later. A very worthwhile buy. Andrew B - Australia.

Some other reviews stated that Season Three of The A-Team had some major problems with some of the episodes freezing up and stopping and going back to the main screen as if the rest of the episode was missing. I recently bought The A-Team-Season three and I had no problems at all. All the episodes played great. This is a great Season to watch and I am looking foward to purchasing season four of the A-Team.

"Pork Chop Hill" is set late in the Korean War as the negotiations drone at the "Peace Talks". An infantry company is given the mission to recapture a "strategically meaningless" hill. It's not meaningless if the Army sends you there! PCH is based on a book by BG S.L.A. Marshall, a prominent military historian. Right from the outset, there is a brooding, moody element to the film, especially early on. The b&w photography is just right. Gregory Peck is front as center as company commander, aided by a strong supporting cast, many of whom later became prominent actors. These include Rip Torn, Woody Strode, Martin Landau and George Peppard. George Shibata is excellent as a Japanese-American looey. Peck exudes the same quiet strength he demonstrated in "The Gunfighter" and "Twelve O'Clock High". Does anyone remember the lesser known release, "The Night People"? ... Read More
