This movie makes me wanna cry. I love the actors and Black Jack is totally different in this movie. Worth to watch with boyfriend or husband, haha.

I hope that this is the closest that I ever come to combat in my life. Thank God for the men that put their lives on the line to keep us, and the world, free. Hats off to Spielberg for the realism of the combat. That should be enough for all of us to make a promise to ourselves to personally thank as many vets as we can for serving to keep us free. War is no walk in the park, and this movie comes closest to capturing just how close to hell it really is. This movie teaches a lot about sacrifice, courage, heroism, and emotion. Sometimes there are causes greater than our own selves which are worth sacrificing for. A great movie for this era. Too many men of that generation have passed away - this captures a little bit of what was special about that generation. A must see for all kids as soon as they ... Read More

A classic tale, not as good as i remember it to be as a child but still good clean entertainment for the the whole family, better than commercial TV has to offer.

Imagine a Woody Allen film without Jazz music, without references to Dostoevsky, Nietzsche and the Marx Brothers, without existential questioning but with similar themes - broken marriages, second chances - and some similar characters (there is usually a hysterical woman in a Woody Allen film and Purple Violets has one as well).

Edward Burns, I feel, is the next director to keep an eye on. The film's plot is relatively straight-forward: two guys (Burns, Wilson), two girls (Messing, Blair), they used to know each other, are slowly coming back into each other's lives. The two guys have been friends for a long time, the two girls have been friends for a long time. Reconciliation, being true to yourself... other themes which emerge making the film lovely, solid and very approachable.

I would guest 65% of ... Read More

He is absolutely right- this should have been the "uncensored" version which was indeed available previously on 2-part VHS tape. I don't know the story behind the more adult version, as I believe the version originally aired back in the 70's was without the f-word and other stuff. Perhaps another version was created for possible theatrical release either in the US or abroad.

Still, the movie is great and the performances are top notch, I believe still better than the 2004 remake. Enough kudos isn't given to the girls, particularly Nancy Wolfe and Cathey Paine who manage to capture that free-spirited hippy dippiness and completely insane annoyingness at the same time. And, of course, Steve Railsback is really quite brilliant as Charlie. A powerful, scary, intense, but just shy of crazy performance. He should've won an ... Read More

I give this remake 1 star because somehow they seem to repeat the entire movie dialogue word for word, but they squeeze it into 90-ish minutes.

Do yourself a favor, if you like Asian Horror and ghost stories, SkIP THIS REMAKE. The original One Missed Call is well worth watching/reading.

I'm not sure why this movie has gotten so many bad reviews. I've seen it three times on the Sci-Fi channel and each time I couldn't stop watching it. The movie has many unexpected twists and the creatures are truly creative and scary. Among the creatures are some very large hanging bats, some strange looking gorilla-reptile things, a water eel-snake thing, large flying birds, dinosaurs, and some people-eating vines.

Maybe I just don't remember my high school years well enough, but I don't think Angelina got a whole lot of attention and fame for this movie. Still, I love it.

The story is a fairly common one. Angelina, playing a beautiful news anchor, finds out she only has a week to live and therefore begins to see her life and relationships in a different light. We all know where it is going, of course, but that is half the fun.

The cast is extraordinary. Usually the romantic leads are said as having chemistry or not--I beg to say that the entire cast flows extremely well together.

Then there is the filmatography. I don't know much about what is supposed to be good or artistic or whatnot--all I know is that it was a little different style than the usual romantic comedy and it came as very neat to me! It very well fit the tone ... Read More
