This movie is terrible!! I give this a one star because of the special effects but otherwise this movie sucks. I am more confused than ever after I watched this movie. As with other movies I had hoped they would give histories of the jumpers like how they came about and so forth and the people who kill jumpers and how they came about and so forth. This movie is a tag your it and catch me if you can.

Prior to Lonesome Dove, Gone With The Wind was my favorite movie. But my favorite now is Lonesome Dove. It is well written, produced, directed, edited, and the music is so fantastic!
L.D. probably has more memorable one-liners than any movie ever made. And I am glad it was made as a mini-series rather than a movie, because we get six hours of enjoyment, which is three or four times more than if it were released in theaters. I cannot heap too much praise on this classic . . .

This was a random purchase, as I had never heard of it. What a find! I'll skip a review of plot, as others have covered that extensively.

As the Lane/Dern commentary makes clear, this was not a reaction to the trends of the times, apart from the tacked-on ending, filmed two years later. Mostly filmed in February 1980, it actually predated the rise of so-called girl bands (e.g., go-gos, bangles, etc.) and hard-core mass manipulation that exploded at that time. Put CNN, growth of cable, computers and MTV together and look out society! Watching the throngs of "skunks" in the mall, with their look-alike "stains" outfits predicted the "Madonna wannabe" trend that hit a few years later. This movie gets huge bonus points for predicting the future dead on.

This is one of Diane Lanes best performances I have had the privilege of watching. It covers a spectrum of emotions. The story line takes you thru many ups and downs. The scenery is also excellent. Worth the price !

So many plot holes! If somebody was murdered by hundreds of heating lamps... maybe the FBI should try to find out who the heck bought all those lamps? If somebody got burned to death in a pool of sulfuric acid, maybe, just maybe, they need to find out who purchased tanks and tanks of sulfuric acid! It's not one of those everyday items you buy at your local walmart! Who the heck wrote this script? A middle schooler? Are you kidding me?

The main character, who is a trained FBI agent has no idea how to protect herself knowing that someone's out there to kill her! Her computer gets broken into...and she's supposed to be a cybercrime expert? Her car got broken into and reprogrammed (huh?) and now that it's started back up again.. she enters the freaking car without even checking it out! And of course the ... Read More

After I had seen and raved Lane's dynamic performance in `Unfaithful' I was told by many a friend to check out her riveting portrayal of, you guessed it, a cheating spouse in `A Walk on the Moon'. My friends all claimed that she is just as impressive and just as Oscar worthy here as well, but really, all they had to do was say Diane Lane and I was sold (I just love her). I don't know how this movie passed me by, but then again, 1999 was such a rich year for film that it is almost impossible to lay claim to seeing all of them. `A Walk on the Moon' may be a tad predictable (okay, a lot predictable) and it may be formulaic, but the rich performances and the nicely developed script help elevate this film higher than the subject necessarily calls for.

The film tells the story of Pearl Kantrowitz, a young mother of two who is ... Read More
