Can I please get my money back? This movie is terrible. There is one thing that I have never done as an avid movie watcher, and that one thing is fall asleep during a movie. Bad or not, I haven't fallen asleep on a movie....Until Vanishing Point somehow found it's way into my theater room. I'm telling ya, whenever I'm having a night where I just can't fall asleep, I'll pop this terrible movie in and in 10 minutes I'm sleeping like a baby. I bought this movie for Five Dollars and I feel like I got the short end of the stick here. I feel flat out robbed. With a weak American Dollar, paying $5 for this movie is a bit too much.

The acting, chases and the Nascar plot sent this movie spinning around in circles, literally as the disc flew across the room. I don't understand the positive ... Read More

I liked this movie, I mean its worth watching, but its all the while a question of "suspend your disbelif", because this is just so unlikely. i dont know if the problem is the genre that its science fiction or what, buyt its hardly credible. pure fantasy. but fun

First, the very opening of the movie is fantastic - almost worth the discounted purchase price by itself.

The special effects are really quite good.

The acting ranges from good to poor but, is generally passable.

The story development and character interactions are OK if one hasn't read the book.

However, if one has read the book there is such a distortion of both characters and their interactions and loss of sophistication and nuance as to be quite maddening.

Ah, for what might have been!

This was not worth the money at all. I love rock-n-roll parady like SPINAL TAP, THE SCHOOL OF ROCK and really thought that this would be good and funny, boy was I wrong. It really sucked, way too stupid and way too immature, even for me a 46 yr old teenager. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Jack needs to go back to the drawingboard before attempting another one of these.

This is a great movie, because the action is non-stop and the visuals were ahead of their time. It has the longest fight scene between Roddy Piper and Keith David. It mixes seriousness and humor. It also has one of the most famous quotes "I have come to chew bubble gum and kick a$$, and I'm all out of bubble gum".

The Wild Geese is a well made action yarn directed by Andrew McLaglen, son of the well known character actor Victor McLaglen. It is based on a novel of the same name and stars four big name stars of the day, 1970's, Richard Burton, Richard Harris, Roger Moore, and Hardy Kruger. It has a great supporting case, mostly British and South African, most notably Stewart Granger and Winston Ntshona. Filmed entirely in northern Transvaal, South Africa, the story is loosely based on events in the Congo, now Zaire, in the 1960's. Simply the rightful leader of an African country, held prisoner for many years, is rescued by a group of 50 or so mercenaries, recruited in the UK. But, things change quickly in Africa and now the mercenaries and the person they are rescuing are abandoned by the money boys back in Europe. ... Read More

A widow (Berry) invites her husband's friend, Jerry (Del Toro) to live with her and her two kids. Her husband's best friend (Lynch) befriends Jerry.

I fail to see what was so great in this movie, certainly not the script !

As for the acting, only Benicio del Toro and John Carroll Lynch are worth mentioning. The others definitely delivered second rate performances, especially Halle Berry.
The directing was not extraordinary. It wasn't even ordinary. It was just plain lame.
The photography was pretty awful, the characters were lost with the background, mostly in the scenes shot outside.

I was told by friends the movie was fun, and went by quickly. I don't think I've ever seen such a slow film! and time sure didn't go by fast enough.
It was so slow that I started ... Read More
