Prior to Lonesome Dove, Gone With The Wind was my favorite movie. But my favorite now is Lonesome Dove. It is well written, produced, directed, edited, and the music is so fantastic!
L.D. probably has more memorable one-liners than any movie ever made. And I am glad it was made as a mini-series rather than a movie, because we get six hours of enjoyment, which is three or four times more than if it were released in theaters. I cannot heap too much praise on this classic . . .

I get it. It's trying to be a deadpan, quirky movie about a dysfunctional family. It just isn't NEARLY as good as the pretentious people out there would have you believe. Arrested Development does the same thing but with WAY more interesting characters and humour that never misses the mark.

First, to me seem an excellent idea to have 4 of my favorites films in one box, but was a sad thing that when i received this item was duplicate one disc (lethal weapon 1 and 2), doesn't contain the second cd of lethal weapon 3 and 4. Very dissapointed of this item, even now i can't get my money back.

Rented this to counter-balance wife's choice of "What Happens in Vegas" (that was better than expected). That the people who produced this "hit piece" were going to ignore facts and try to brow beat you into believing their "anti-America, anti-Republican" message.

SPOILERS: It begins with a sniper team (supposedly Marines) covering an extraction team. The spotter takes the time to gaze at a picture of his cute wife and ponder the ethics and purpose of their mission while they literally chew their cud. The action starts with Mark Wahlberg knocking off targets with casual ease but when a larger force "appears" they call for backup; especially when the bad guys manage to set up mortars ranged onto their position instantaneously. At the Army base, some civilian pulls the plug on the supposedly ... Read More

the trailer makes this movie look like a jake black free for all comedy. i am not a big fan of j. black but i was looking for a stupid movie to enjoy while a little drunk. i really enjoy mos def's character in 16 blocks so i was happy to see him in something different. my problem with this movie is that its actually a warm felt movie with a different plot and very moving performances. it was a good movie just different from what the trailer looks like

Just a short review this time. Animation, sound, music & story just all come together. Had to watch it a second time within a few hours of the first viewing to really make sure it was as good as I thought it was the first time. This a.m. the smallest members of the family were over and gave it to them, so am now ordering my second copy for myself which I will hide away for just Dan & me to enjoy. The kids were going right home to watch it, so can't wait to hear what they think of it.

A boy sees something he wishes he had not seen. He is a witness to
a crime. He is Amish, as are his parents. He must be protected.
And as it turns out, he must be protected from cops gone bad.
Detective John Book takes the boy to hide out amongst the Amish,
while he tries to figure out what to do.

Book, who has been injured, is nursed back to health. And while
amongst the Amish, a relationship between him and Rachel develops,
but Rachel is supposed to marry somebody else.

In one scene, Book witnesses Rachel bathing, accidently. This
scene is a contrast with what the boy Samuel has seen. (Violence
is the immoral use of physical force. And adultery is a violent
act. Rachel is not married. She is a widow, but is this
violation of her privacy, ... Read More
