Spider-man is a hugely popular film franchise, and it's not without good reason. The first film is great with good acting, great special effects and music, and a great starting point for the story. It involves Peter Parker getting bitten by some kind of genetically enhanced spider, giving him the famous powers Spider-man is known for. After that you get the green goblin involved (a guy who does a science experiment on himself... but it doesn't go so well) and you have some good fight scenes and some cheesy but funny lines. There are a few particularly memorable scenes, the cage fight near the film's beginning being one of them. So overall I highly recommend Spider-man to anyone who likes action movies and now that it's offered for such cheap prices you barely have any excuse to not see it!

Yes, this movie is a little cliche and has three villains and plots, but is entertaining. Most people will agree that this could have been at least two separate movies. With pressure from the studio that this would be the last of the Spider-Man franchise the director tried to fit as much in as he could, with mixed results. Because this item was once included with Playstation 3's a while back, it is a very common Blu Ray and has decreased in value. If you don't have this movie in your collection, the price makes the decision to add it to your collection a little easier.

This is the only movie about the epic battle of Midway which means that its the one that you'll have to watch to get any taste about this incredible pivotal turning point in the war in the Pacific. What can I say? You get some great performances from excellent actors like Henry Fonda. There's a melodramatic father and son plot between Heston and a young Edward Arnold over his Japanese girlfriend. Historical figures are played by up and coming or known actors. A documentary type feel for both the Japanese and American timelines which works to some extent. *A pastiche of footage from other sources which the filmakers used to 'fill in the gaps' in the plot with an acceptable but sometimes inauthentic feel. Sorry- are we reviewing the film or the DVD of the film? Unarguably a classic- the dvd I have is sad with nary a bonus feature. This movie could use a DVD do-over to take advantage of its continued popularity.

All three movies were very cute and enjoyable, it was disappointing that the movies weren't in wide screen though. But for $13.00 it was worth it.

The first time I watched this movie I was a little girl in love with horses. I still enjoy this movie and its story of a courageous young girl who is never willing to give up on her dream.

I saw this move years ago on a premium movie channel. At the time I recall thinking that I would love to see it on a large screen. Fast forward to 2008, I have a 52" big screen. I ordered this DVD. WOW! It was everything I remembered and more. Awesome, stunning visuals. The sailing scenes rock!

Both Borders and Barnes and Noble now carry a widescreen version of Picnic: http://video.barnesandnoble.com/DVD/Picnic/William-Holden/e/043396828797/?itm=4 Widescreen on one side, fullscreen on the other. It says "Columbia Classics" across the top of the package. I wish Amazon would carry this version, as I don't want to open a new account at one of those other places just for one item.
