I remember seeing some previews for this film, and thinking that it looked interesting. I'm a big Clive Owen fan, and aside from what I saw in the trailer, I didn't really know much about it. Had never read the book, hadn't seen any promo for it aside from the aforementioned trailer.

As I was watching it I found myself realizing I was watching something special. I viewed it on the train ride from the east coast to the West coast, and was thoroughly captivated and drawn into this well made film.

Clive Owen is great in this, as is just about everyone in here. How this film got overlooked for Best Picture is beyond me. Three of the best films of 2007 were all made by Spanish Directors (Children of Men, Pans Labyrinth and Babel), and in my opinion Children of Men ... Read More

I saw this movie originally on NBC and loved it! My kids were upset that they couldn't watch it (it was a school night). I wasn't sure I wanted to watch it, but I'm so glad I did. Kelsey Grammer as Scrooge was great as was Jessie Owens as the Ghost of Christmas Present (I had no idea he could sing and dance!). I'm greatly looking forward to sharing this movie with my children this Christmas. A really wonderful movie.

Jonestown: The Life and Death of the People's Temple (Stanley Nelson, 2006)

Thirty years later, it's still hard for me to wrap my head around the monstrosity that was the People's Temple. Stanley Nelson's documentary does a pretty good job of explaining the how of it, using extensive footage of the Temple and interviews from survivors, But I just can't grasp the why. (I'll attempt not to turn this review into a diatribe against religion, so if it seems a little sketchy, that's why.)

Rather than focusing on what most know of the People's Temple-- the events of November 11, 1978-- Nelson (Sweet Honey in the Rock: Raise Your Voice) goes back to the beginning, examining the life of Jim Jones as he started his small church in Indiana, tracing it through its various moves, and finally ... Most of the film noir in this package were pretty good. The actors were good, the plots were good, and the production was ok. Since the movies that are produced today are in the F class, the movies in this package were in the A class!

Renegade is my favorite show from the 90's... its had everything.. the bikes, Hummer, the great scenery, music, women, and a following story line that kept you watching. Lamas was perfect as Raines as well as Sixkiller and Chey..

Renegade was one of those "Once in a lifetime" shows that was perfect for the times, the cast and the writer (Cannel) were perfect and its still run in syndication today. I love watching the episodes and it brings me back to a better time in my life..
The acting was subpar, but who cares? The music and the Harley made up for the poor acting..

Renegade will always be a
"Good time show" for me , as well as millions of others.

I loved watching the DVD about one of my favourite musicals as I'm a musical freak!!!
It was really informational about how Cameron Macintosh and the directors traveled so far around the world to find their lead girl 'Kim' and they finally found Lea Salonga in the Phillipenes. She's a fantastic singer and I really admire her and have ever since I got the CD of Miss Saigon.
I would've loved to have heard a little more of the music but what I heard was great.
Thanks

"The Hours" is a beautifully crafted, thought-provoking, brilliantly acted movie. Superlatives fail to describe this film. It is a movie about the lives of 3 women, their depression, their choices.

Nicole Kidman is convincing as the silently tortured bi-polar Virginia Wolfe who desperately wants to be normal for the sake of everyone around her, but because of her untreated illness, cannot. Juliann Moore is the most heart-wrenching as the mother who desperately wants to be a good mother and wife but because she is so emotionally dettached and unfulfilled in those roles, she cannot. Merle Streep is the lesbian who plays nurse-maid to her male ex-lover now dying of AIDS. She wants to rescue him. She cannot.

Three actresses playing the roles of three women who are unsuccessfully playing roles and whose characters ... Read More

The three men in the movie run the gamut from the guy who really loves his wife and doesn't want to lose her, to the divorced guy who's out to **** anything with a skirt that will come off, including the other guys' wives.

** spoilers **

As other reviewers said, the movie earned its R rating in one 35-second scene. Even that was a little unbelievable, because the guys walked in to the strip club and the wife, a few seconds behind, spotted them both in the midst of very close and personal lapdances. Usually, the point of strip clubs is for the girls to keep the guys there spending money, and the guys are there to enjoy the view, so they're not going to be so quick. I digress. However, the wife's shock and outrage are quite believable; disillunsionment, a hemorrhage of intimacy like that can be quite a blow. Imagine stumbling ... Read More
