This should be or perhaps it is a cult classic. This is one of my favorite older movies. Bill Murray while he's no super funny in Meatballs, his humor shines along with the cast of mostly non-stars. Harvey Atkins is the Camp Director Morty (Not Mickey!) Melnick who tries to keep order at Camp North Star while at the same time his counselors and counselors-in-training (CIT's for short) keep their hormones and hijinks in check. Naturally the leader of his counselors on the male side is Tripper Harris (Bill Murray) and on the female side you have Roxanne who Trip loves but the feeling isn't mutual. Throw in the fact that Morty/Mickey constantly finds himself waking up in unpleasant fashion. Whether it's high on a tree (including his side table with his alarm clock) or floating on a raft on a lake ... Read More

Oliver Stone's and we all know about him, rendition of a quasi biography of an influential 1960's rock band. We are treated to behind the scene understanding of what makes Jim Morrison, Jim Morrison.

The movie dragged on and on and on with psychedelic filler. Most of the actors were sleepwalking through the script, especially Meg Ryan and Val Kilmer.

During the season leading up to the 2008 Presidential Elections, this film raises some interesting questions about the role of the media in shaping who we believe politicians are. After this, and similar films, one has to wonder about the reality of the men being considered for the country's highest office.

Wayne Campbell(Mike Meyers) and Garth Algar (Dana Carvey) are two bogus rock geeks that are the host of a popular UHF cable station show called "Wayne's World", Ben Oliver (Rob Lowe) is a cable network executive that decides to make their public access show into a major TV show as it could give them great fortune and fame. Wayne falls for bodacious rock singer babe Casandra (Tia Carrea) and Garth falls for the girl of his dreams (Donna Dixon) at the Donut shop, unfortunately Ben wants to steal Cassandra from Wayne if he does not fail but will Wayne get his girl to help her career?

A most excellent and original comedy satire based on the popular SNL skit is one of the most popular cult comedies around. The film offers appearences by Ed O'Neil, Alice Cooper, Chris Farley and T2's Robert Patrick and some ... Read More

I can work around the fact that it's not "enhanced for widescreen TVs", but the transfer is atrocious; the picture "jitters" rhythmically throughout the movie. That's a level of quality control/assurance I might expect from one of the junk companies that releases public domain movies, but not from Warner Bros. This DVD release managed to ruin a fairly good movie.

I thought I was giving it -0- "stars", but I guess that's not possible.

Avoid at all costs.

Probably Carvey's best flick, it sports an amazing number of cameos by famous stars, in addition to the wacky comedy of Carveyand Bell, who complement each other perfectly. This movie and the sequel remain my favorite of all of his roles. Even after all these years, the jokes and the gags are still as funny as ever.

I knew Dana at San Francisco State University before he became a star, where he used to entertain us at dorm parties. We always knew he had talent, and knew he would go far some day if he only got his chance. Luckily for him and for us, he did.

There's a shocker huh? No offense to you strippers out there. Your "victims" get what they have coming to them; empty wallets! Strangely, the vampires/strippers in this film are much more selective. I can't say that was a big problem with this film. Oh, it had problems for sure, but none of them stopped me from actually liking this movie. Let's shimmy into it shall we...

-WE GREATLY DESIRE TO HANG WITH YOU DORKS.
This is the set-up for the whole movie. It goes like this:
Two guys trying to join a fraternity of ritualistic dorks decide they are too cool to follow the rituals. Despite this, they are still willing to go to great lengths to gain entry into the dorky club. The Dorks agree to allow entry into the club if the "too cool" newbs throw a wild party for them, including strippers. So begins ... Read More

This is not so much a review as a complaint. I ordered this movie mainly because it won an academy award for Best Song, that being the song...LINDA. That also happens to be the name of one of my daughters, so I ordered it kind of for her. Upon receiving the movie, I immediately ran it , anticipating hearing that song. Alas, the song didn't appear anywhere in the movie. It must have been trimmed for whatever purposes when making the DVD. I am going to watch it again and see if I missed it in the opening intros, but am pretty sure it wasn't there. Since the movie is basically just an OK war story, I wouldn't have ordered it had I known LINDA was missing. What say?
