As always, there is a limit to how bad anything Morgan Freeman appears in can be. He did a great job for his part, but there were some things that were a bit unexplained in the movie. Weak points:

1. What caused the schism between the two bosses? How did the timing work out so perfectly that the first boss knew that the second killed his son?
2. It is very easy for Bruce Willis to look cool, but it seems like his walking into a parking garage and shooting someone while in motion in an elevator was a bit.....overdone.
3. The treatment of how the failed bet (around which the whole movie was based) was a bit stretched. Were all that many steps really necessary to explain how the information traveled all the way to the person who made the bet?
4. When Lucy Liu's character ... Read More

Bruce Willis is phenomenal in these movies. The Die Hard collection is non-stop action from beginning to end. It has witty one-liners, which I love, and it is completely entertaining even if not always believable, funny in places and totally awesome. If you like action, you will love this collection. It's really that simple.

This film breaks at least a couple of "rules" that apply to the novel or a movie. First, there is not a single character in it that the viewer can like. They are all human dregs, with no use whatever to society. Second, the plot is not continuous, and the viewer has to reassemble the pieces. These faults should destroy the movie--but somehow they don't.

In fact, this is one of the best movies I've ever seen. It is amazing that the director/writer could break such cardinal rules and produce a masterpiece. Is it the acting? Partly. The acting is certainly excellent. Travolta plays a stupid, druggie, ugly hit man to perfection. Samuel L. Jackson is a vicious but childlike killer who sees great meaning where none exist. The others in the cast are equally good, full of contradictions as people are. ... Read More

People love to dump on this movie...namely for the unrealistic plot and action. The first time I saw this it was in the theater and I felt like everyone else...I was dissapointed and it just felt like a big letdown.

However, this movie has grown on me like no tomorrow. Forget the plot and how its totally unrealistic. This movie has some of the best and funniest dialogue. It you watch the Gag Reel on the Criterion edition you'll see how much fun the actors had making this. The dialogue in this movie is funnier than most comedies out there, you just have to ignore the plot and pay attention to it. The humor is very dry and the characters all gel really well together. Its the little lines that make this movie..like when Bruce Willis is having an argument with his daughter, and to distract the Japanese ... Read More

Admittedly, Quentin Tarantino can be irritating. He's a weak-jawed geek who believes his own press clippings (and thinks he's tough guy because he makes action flicks). And he's also a screamer - an actor who can't stop shouting on screen.

But I've never met him, so maybe I'm being presumptive.

Because whether Tarantino is a jackass doesn't matter. The man makes dynamite movies - from "Reservoir Dogs" (1992) to "Pulp Fiction" (1994). He makes those guilty pleasure flicks filled with great lines, fast action, and superb acting. As a director he yanks the gusto out of his actors. John Travolta should send him Christmas cards for saving his career.

That brings us to "Grindhouse" (2007).

All the credit can't go to Tarantino, of course, as he co-directed "Grindhouse" with the talented ... Read More

Superb comedy for the kids & adults will laugh too! I've seen this twice now with my nephews and they enjoyed it a lot & so did I! One of those great kids' films that works well for adults too. Good stuff.
