This movie is hugely underrated, and often poorly misrepresented. At least it appears so from a lot of these reviews.
Perhaps as others have said, it was and still is marketed incorrectly, as some believe the absence of "War-like Violence" leaves much to be desired.
But define war?? At least in its true, non text book sense and this movie will speak volumes.
It's an incredibly intelligent, poignant and heartbreakingly honest film, driven by 'the wait' for an enemy that never emerged.
Perhaps our ignorance for such a film proves our ignorance towards the true mechanisms and often extreme waste that war is.
Mission to kill?
We seem to forget the stories of those who did nothing but kill time in the desert.
As the film concludes; "He will always remain, ... Read More

I would suggest finding the original theatrical release of this film if you want to relive the memories from the first time you saw the movie and especially if you want to share it with a friend who has never seen it before. I think the director's cut is more for a true Warriors Fan-like myself. The original version was more suspenseful and in my opinion the tempo is more of a thrill ride. I do like the Director's cut with the added Comic Book cut away scenes but it just didn't seem to move as well as the original. Still an awesome soundtrack and characters etc...

I thought this movie was fun mainly because I love all Christopher Guest movies, they are always full of subtle satire and the actors all act so natural as though they are just adlibbing most of it. The mighty wind was just another typical Guest satire on the folk music industry with all of its nerdiest and silly type casts the Guest loves to exploit and have fun with. Alot of fun and worth watching over in case you missed something the first time.

I saw the movie for this and thought that was great, not knowing at the time he had a screenplay version to it. This play was absolutely wonderful. I do not regret purchasing this DVD. It had me laughing, getting to know each character's personality, and at the same time expose you to some serious issues that may be happening to people in their marriages today and each character's take on the dos and donts when in relationships. I don't care what anyone says about Tyler Perry; this play was nice. I cant wait for his next play, The Marriage Counselor, to come out on DVD!

Ok, maybe not the best comedy out there but definitely one of the better ones. It's a good flick that has some funny scenes, like when they fight Terry Bradshaw in the restaurant.

This was the movie that when I first saw it in the theater back in '78, I wanted to be an actor, so badly but living in Connecticut and being as far from Hollywood as one can be before leaving the country, it was basically impossible to follow my dream.

Plus believe it or not, when I walked into the drama class back in '78-79 at Amity High School, the drama teacher at the time, didn't like me as a person so told me to leave. Didn't believe I was genuinly interested in learning about acting.

Unfortunately, it's been a prevailing theme in my life, people knocking me down a notch just because they see ... Read More

Air Bud is back-again. This time he is playing volleyball. This movie overall is pretty good. Again--the point is YES IT IS VERY FAR FETCHED-but young kids really like these kinds of movies where animals can do cool things. (like play sports) If you're having young kids over at your house-Air Bud is the kind of movie you want to watch. This is a must for any Air Bud fan!

DVD : The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring (Theatrical and Extended Limited Edition)
Peter Jackson's adaptation of The Fellowship of the Ring is a good representation of Tolkien's original work, but it is also a very well-made movie. Just like Tolkien's book, The Lord of the Rings, has long been the standard to which most fantasy books are compared, I believe fantasy movies will be held against the movie trilogy for many years to come. (Be aware that this review may contain some SPOILERS).

One of the biggest criticisms I see about the movie is some of the changes made from the book. Yes, there is much more in Tolkien's book than is in the movie, but can it really be helped? For the most part the movie stays very faithful to the book. Yes, parts were left out (like the character of Tom Bombadil), but most of this was done so the immense work could fit into a movie. And even with the abridgement, ... Read More
