This is by far the funniest, most entertaining stand-up comedy show that I have ever had the pleasure of watching. I saw it for the first time years ago, have watched it many many times since, and still laugh all the way through it. He definitely set the standard. I strongly recommend that anyone who likes to laugh invest in this DVD - you wont regret it!

SPOILERS AHEAD!

This is a nice surprise of a movie--heartfelt without being smarmy, intelligent, literate, witty, quirky, and shot in a lovely wooded area. It's about a man in New York who comes back to his native Montana to care for his ailing grandfather. The man is also gay but unattached, though an old flame tries to get together with him again. A more fascinating character is called Pike (Eric Schweig), a Native American who runs the general store but is scared of what he feels for the prodigal fellow, played by Arye Gross. The townspeople turn out to be very warm and tolerant in regard to gay relationships, and they are quite supportive in many respects.

The ending is just a slight letdown: why didn't Arye come clean with Pike instead of ... Read More

Great movie, completely entertaining for kids and parents. Not as good as the first one, but still really cute. Had my 2 year old and my 8 year old spellbound!

This movie had a good story line, good enough acting. My issue is with the director/editor. This movie was all over the place. For ex: the scene where he is on the train "day dreaming" was entirely too long. And some of the flash backs shown had no place in this particular scene. Placement of scenes was very awkward or out of order. Ok movie to stumble on and watch. I would not recommend this movie to anyone.

It isn't the film, it's the casting, y'all. I saw it because it is based on someone from my hometown who moved to NYC and became a publicist. Al Pacino no more looks like this man in real life than I do Ava Gardner. And, believe me, I don't look anything like her. You do remember Ava, don't you? Al Pacino was just sleepwalking through the entire film. Who cast all of these well known actors? They simply do not fit. This should have been a gritty film if they were going to end it the way they did. It doesn't know if it wants to be a musical, a Disney film, or an Indy. The whole film is kind of fragmented and doesn't make sense. Too much material for such a little film. I think this was the start of Al Pacino's cinema downfall. He looks and talks the same in all his films now. He looks bored. He could have done a super job ... Read More

Only A Genious could make such a creative and funny movie as this. It stars Sharon Stone, Woody Allen, Kiefer Sutherland, Cheech Marrin and alot of other great actors, who all together make this side splitting humer work. and I would recomend it to everyone.

There seems to be much confusion about this movie. First, Amazon has two sites for this movie (Epoch and Epoch 2000) with totally opposite rankings reviews and obviously equally sales rankings. Let's see the good points stated so far (which I agree with):

-Realism: All the pieces are good...........the ever-present military does what the military usually seems to do: get confused, issue contradictory orders as a result, and get more confused. Governments do what governments do: squabble over who owns something that no human agency could possibly own.

-Humbleness: I found "Epoch" to be a very enjoyable movie where I didn't need to think for a bit. Compare it to "Sphere" and it seems like a sci-fi masterpiece! The story is not the usual large-monster horror film like UFO usually does. It's about an alien artifact that is ... Read More

I remembered ordering it, when I got it. It was scratched and returned it and got my money back. So I didn't re-ordered it. I don't know how the film is!
