I can't explain it to you, you wouldn't understand. How can you emphasize that something strikes a resonnating chord with a distant memory of a cherished job? Don't buy it unless you've seen it. And "No" you can't borrow my copy.

I find it hard to believe that anyone could watch this movie and not be moved by this powerful story. The heartbreaking part of it being that it's based off true events. Brandon was clearly suffering from some identity issues and she had run into some close calls before hooking up with this group of *friends*. Hilary Swank definitely earned her Oscar with this production. Great movie.

When a group of workman are hired to remove asbestos from an old mental hospital, one of them stumbles across a collection of old audio tapes - interviews between a psychiatrist and woman with multiple personalities, one of whom is a killer who might be back and killing again.

"Session 9" is an odd film in that virtually no one has heard of it, but almost everyone who has sings its praises. After seeing it recommended for the third time online, I finally decided that I should probably watch it. Although I agree that this film is well made, especially considering its obviously low budget, overall, I was disappointed by it. Director Brad Anderson does a good job of setting the scene for something scary to happen and this is a very creepy film, but the problem is that Anderson takes too long ... Read More

No one does Black Comedy better than Todd Soldonz, and while this won't have one watching through their fingers like his follow-up "Happiness," but this surely will go down as the most-scathing portrayal of junior high ever filmed. Low-budget, but with writing and acting like this I don't need great lighting or a slick production. If you hated junior high, highly reccomended. If you were a Mean Girl or Boy, you will see how your actions affected others.

Pecker (Edward Furlong) is a naive artist who likes to take pictures of his family and friends in Baltimore. His name is derived from the fact that as a child he pecked at his food. He works at a sandwich shop, and is excited about having his first exhibition. It is a very amateur affair, but through some fluke he is discovered. Pecker's out-of-focus snapshots are being compared to Diane Arbus, but with empathy, and his work is sought by the New York Art Elite. Gallery owner Rorey Wheeler (Lili Taylor) is especially taken with the new artiste on the block, and attempts to lure him from his girlfriend, Shelley (Christina Ricci), who is too busy enforcing nazi-like rules at her laundrymat to notice at first.

Film maker John Waters (Pink Flamingoes, Hairspray, Polyester, Cry Baby, etc.) takes aim at New York elitists ... Read More
