I'm not an aficionado of war movies, but I'm familiar enough with them to know the elements that were once groundbreaking but are now cliche (several scenes in this movie remind me of Platoon in particular). I went into this expecting a lame spoof movie, but instead I saw one of the best comedies that has come a long for a very long time. If you're tired of the drivel from the "Not Another Teen Movie/Meet the Spartans" bunch, don't worry-- this is NOTHING like that! It's actually FUNNY, SMART and ENTERTAINING. (That shouldn't be so much to ask, but it seems to be!)

The premise is very much like Galaxy Quest, another film where actors are thrust into a real-life situation and must get themselves out. There is a lot more poking fun at Hollywood stereotypes, and in a couple of places ... Read More

This is such a great movie. It has the look of Batman and Batman Returns, and has the feel of all the gothic literature/films that have been seen. Brandon Lee's (sadly) final performance is a treat: he is the one and only "Eric Draven", and all the others are just copycats of him. Pacing and direction of this film is compelling, while the wicked art direction stands out. Action sequences are a must-see, and the script is purely well-written. ***** out of *****.

When I bought this collection...I fully understood that most of these films were "duds". As someone who thinks Ed Wood is a genius...collections like this are a god-send to those of us who enjoy a "B" grade or less movie. The cost is fantastic as well & saves so much time from downloading the same titles from public domain film websites.

The Girl Next Door is the precursor to the highly successful Superbad. The film has a fomula feel to it. It features the "nerd" trio who seek sex before heading off to ivy league colleges; the madonna/whore good girl gone bad who is the nerd's object of desire; and a backdrop of stereotypes including good looking dumb jocks and oblivious parents.

The film works on a number of levels. The actors all have fine comedic timing, and the plot, while corny, has enough interest and twists to maintain interest. Most importantly, the r factor (drugs, sex and rock n roll) will engage most males 15-19.

A fun film.

This is a good DVD to relive all your childhood memories of Punky Brewster. Even though the final episode was not that great, the should have had some closure to what happened to Punky's mom. The DVD's are of good quality in picture and sound. No complaining here

I am amazed at the mixed reviews this movie has garnered. Its really not that bad and is actually watchable and definitely enjoyable. ATL chronicles the life of four black men, Rashad(T.I.), Esquire(Jason Long), Brooklyn(Albert Daniels) and Teddy(Jason Weaver) and their growing up in Atlanta, Georgia.

The acting is good and nobody is given in to fits of outrageous overacting in this movie. T.I and the rest of the cast act just like the laid back residents of Atlanta Georgia without coming out forced. Big Boi was better here than he was in Idlewild and Mykelti Williamson was better here than he was in Forrest Gump.

Brief Spoilers: Rashad knows that his little brother "Jellybean"(Evan Ross)is headed down the wrong path after catching him riding in the car with a local drug dealer(played by ... Read More
