Let me say this first and foremost, my boyfriend told me about this movie while walking to the library one day. At first, I told him I didn't want to see it, but he insisted that I should give it a try and afterwards tell him how I felt about it. So, I said O.K. and borrowed it for the weekend. And there I was, sitting in the living room with my boyfriend, watching the Princess Bride. Robin Wright plays the serious, deadpan Princess Buttercup, Cary Elwes plays the poor, lame, non-acting farmer/pirate character, Westley, Chris Sarandon plays the very cruel and very pathetic prince Humperdink, and Billy Crystal plays the lovable Miracle Max. Now, I was very Surprised to see the late Andre the Giant in this film, he did a very good job being that this was his 1st movie debut. He made me laugh ... Read More

Very few movies appeal equally to kids and adults alike, but this movie is definitely in that very elite class. I have watched it numerous times with the kids, and it just keeps getting better. What else can I say? The writing and the actors are top notch, it's genuinely funny and heartwarming, the art is outstanding and it's got loveable monsters!

I was overwhelmed by this production of Hamlet. Kenneth Branagh is wonderful and plays the part of Hamlet with such sensitivity and vitality - makes the unabridged lines accessible, even to people unused to Shakespeare. Kate Winslet is excellent. The whole cast and the scenes - especially the scenes - are staggeringly good. The only Hamlet on film, worth watching! Kenneth Branagh is a genius.

This film stole my heart. I am not even an anime fan, but I reluctantly watched this movie on a recomendation. It is refreshingly original to say the least. Why did I not hear about this movie upon its release?! This is The best thing I have ever seen come from Disney! It will break you out of the box of ordinary movies. Howl's Moving Castle took my imagination on an emotional adventure which I shall never forget. Buy this film without hesitation.

This was not very funny. It lacked a lot of the subtle intellectual nuances that comedy usually brings. I found it very dated and dull. There were some skits that were mildly amusing, but not funny. I wish I had never made this purchase.

Soap is one of the weirdest and funniest TV shows of the 70s where there plot changes from show to show but manages to make fun of soaps and dramas with no end,.. it is genius and funny, strange and off the wall and captivating to watch.

There is no doubt that the footage is dated but this only reflects the era and time, Soap managed to break taboos like the mob, homosexuality, lesbianism, sex, mental and family issues, it relects a time where America and the world was dealing with social changes.

Though at times deep and serious issues are dealt with, your sure to be hit with some funny side of the serious too. At 94 shows in the series it will take some time to end your saga with Soap.

Confused? You won't be after this weeks Soap. :)

I know that "Analyze This" was marketed as a comedy but is a movie that makes fun of a man being thrown out of a seven story window really that funny? Robert DeNiro spoofs his gangster image (four letter words and all) as Paul Vitti the gangster who turns psychiatrist Ben Sobol's (Billy Crystal)life upside down when he turns up for therapy sessions. Director Ramis seems to have had trouble in drawing the line between a comedy spoof and a straight gangster drama. I mean there are brutal murders taking place all over this movie. The situation where Crystal walks into a gangster summit meeting unopposed is hard to believe. These are supposed to be the smartest criminal minds in the U.S. not dumb gangsters. There are some good comedic moments in the film, however one never knows when and where to take the plot elements seriously or ... Read More

This was a really poorly-made movie. We appreciate the fact that we only borrowed it from the library and didn't spend money on it. We are also happy that we don't have to hide it from younger viewers.

Maybe it is just that we have sophisticated taste. First of all, the movie was just poorly directed, as the story line was gentle and probably could have passed as a good film. Some of the actors had potential, but the lines were weak, and in many cases, very random to the scenes. The lighting was also very poor. Often, the focus was poor as well, and many times it was hard to define the objects or people in the scene, or what was happening in the scene. In certain situations, the words being said seemed to have been duped in, and would come after the character had turned their back on the camera.
