My brothers and I watched I Spy when it first aired and in syndication, and I've just started watching the first season on DVD. I love the location shoots, with now-familiar character actors like Mako, James Hong and Beulah Quo, and the writing holds up reasonably well, too.

I had recalled Kelly and Scotty as equals, but in the first several episodes, Robinson certainly seems to be the lead agent. They are friends, however, and both use the word "wonderfulness," the title of one of Cosby's comedy albums, a lot while bantering back and forth. I think Kelly uses it more than Scotty. The early episodes seem to feature more of Kelly's cover identity as a tennis pro than I recalled.

The first three of Robert Culp's audio commentaries bears little relationship to the background ... Read More

The show itself was wonderful. However, the DVDs are marked in the Amazon description has having subtitles, and the box is marked with the "CC" symbol meaning the shows are closed captions for the hearing impaired. I have tried these DVDs on two different DVD players, plus two different television sets, plus my computer. There is no option on the DVDs to turn on subtitles, and no captions are displayed despite having captions always turned on (I am deaf and always have the captions turned on).

These DVDs are totally useless to me without the captions. This is why I give the DVDs a low rating. Omission or false advertising? Who can tell.

I have always enjoyed the humor of Bill Cosby and wanted to see this video for quite some time. I was not disappointed! As a parent of teenagers, this video really hits the mark describing their growing years of elementary and adolescent days. I laughed so much that tears came to my eyes! My daughter enjoyed parts of it but the reality of the monologue was not lost on my husband and I - thank goodness for clean comedy!

If Season 6 of The Cosby Show was a turnaround season for the cast of characters, it also paved the way for the changes that took place in Season 7. Here we have Vanessa and Rudy both making great changes in their lives; Rudy enters sixth grade and starts getting her period; Vanessa begins college one year before the rest of her age group.

Big changes for Clair as well: she accepts her second cousin Pam Tucker into the Huxtable home and - respectively begins menapause. We also witness Sondra beginning her law degree, Elvin starting his practice and Denise taking a serious step toward becoming a teacher.

Among the season's best moments are "Bird in the Hand," "Period of Adjustment," "It's All in the Game," "The Infantry has Landed," "You Can Go Home Again," "Clair's Liberation," ... Read More

So, this is it, the last season's worth of hurrah for the principal cast of The Cosby Show. Just as many changes with just as many laughs as the previous three seasons. Who would ever have guessed at the beginning of the series that Theo would get anywhere close to earning his bachelor's degree? Or that litle Rudy would go through the usual trials and tribulations of a typical American teenager? And, what about Vanessa's of-again-on-again engagement to an older guy that finds her annoying? And, watching all of them is as funny as ever.

We don't actually see Denise Kendall on camera throughout this season, as she and Martin are now living in Singapore (Theo and Olivia plan to visit them at the show's close). And, who ends up moving into the house in their place? Sondra, Elvin - Winnie and Nelson. ... Read More

Get your laugh-on with those combustible Huxtables in The Cosby Show: 25th Anniversary Commemorative Edition!

For 8 hilarious seasons, viewers laughed with legendary comedian Bill Cosby's Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable and the talented cast that portrayed his TV family which at the time mirrored his real-life family as Cosby, too, married his college sweetheart and also had four daughters and one son.

Considered the most popular series of the 1980s, fans were dumbfounded that previous sets of The Cosby Show (from Urban Works Entertainment) were released with such poor treatment. Most notably, Season 1 which contained edited for syndication episodes instead of the original NBC broadcast versions.

Correcting the ills of the previous sets, this complete series release from First Look ... Read More

As a former NYC paramedic I've got to say this movie, based on the antics of a 1970s ambulance agency, still holds up in the modern era. The cars and clothes styles may have changed a bit, but peoples are still peoples...

One gloomy night in August, Brain Powell and Karen Powell (Brain Kerwin and Diane Lane) decided they would like to be parents. Two months later at a Halloween party Karen realized that the baby was ready to get out after only two months. Had the baby ripped out Aliens-style, this movie would have no doubt been better; however, it wasn't meant to be. Nonetheless, the Halloween-spawn came forth as Karen delivered what essentially turned out to be the Wolfman.

It turns out that Karen delivered her baby, Jack (Robin Williams), seven months early because he's aging at four-times the rate of a normal human. What was left out of the explanation, however, was that along with the quadrupled growth rate, Jack had hair growth at roughly 25 times the normal rate. That's the only explanation for Jack ending up looking ... Read More
