I missed most of the episodes of Nero Wolfe that aired on A & E, and sadly A & E is no longer running it, so I was so glad to get the complete series on video.

The shows were really well done. The characters are true to the book, and the sets are similar to what I envisioned as I read the books. Everything from the whimsical opening credits to the lush photography is a feast for the eye and ears.

I would highly reccommend this video series to murder mystery fans.

HALLOWEEN V: THE REVENGE OF MICHAEL MYERS is not the best of the Halloween saga sequels, but it's not the worst either although HALLOWEEN 5 had some bizarre twist & turns in this movie that didn't make sense that were also unsatisfactory as well.

For instance, they showed a guy with a hat wearing a black trench coat & some boots not explaning to us who or what he is or what he has to do with the movie or with Michael Myers, but for some reason they had shown that mystery man shoot up the police station and to free Michael leaving us another cliffhanger at the end, just like they did in HALLOWEEN 4:THE RETURN OF MICHAEL MYERS, except I don't think HALLOWEEN V was as good as HALLOWEEN IV or even the first 2 Halloweens for that matter either, which reminds me that HALLOWEEN ... Suddenly, as the film opens in Halloween 4: The Return of Micheal Myers, we as the viewer are subject to some odd little facts that just suddenly happened. Jaimie Lee Curtis is nowhere to be found, she suddenly has a daughter, Loomis is at his looniest and SOMEHOW survived the explosion in 2 (impossible) and on top of THAT, he lived threw it all with only a few visible scars on his face...
Need I mention that Micheal was shot in both eyes in 2, but has them back (but some strange turn of events) in 4...

I know a lot can happen in "10 years", but i mean some of this stuff is just ridiculous...

While i respect the attempt made here...it was a terrible attempt...
and yet, they went on to make 2 more terrible follow up movies...

no good...

I was vaguely aware of this light-hearted suspense/mystery show when it was on in the mid-90s, but never watched it. The reason my wife and I picked up on it recently was because of star Paul Gross's more recent comedy, Slings and Arrrows (a work of genius, BTW, in the league of Ricky Gervais's The Office). Due South is funny, action-packed, full of delightful characters (including a deaf wolf named after a former Canadian PM), and not a little bittersweet. As suspense-mysteries go, the shows aren't bad either. One caveat, though: By jamming 6 hour-format episodes on each disk, the manufacturer has degraded the visual quality. During any action sequence there's terrible pixilation and breakup. So long as the actors aren't moving very much, it looks OK. We're willing to put up with the visual issues because we've ... This movie is definitely for Sci-fi fans. It is more on the subdued side as opposed to the high octane type, like 'Alien'. However, it is a good story.
Fairly formula type: the earth is being invaded by bugs using human skins to blend in in order to get a substance to help their 'race' survive. Humans are expendable.
I gave this four stars because it could have easily been shorter. Coming in close to 4 hours with a low key plot... you really have to like this genre to sit through it. But I do like this genre, still think it could have been shorter though.
Definitely a family type, low key, not much in the way of violence or strong language or sexual situations. Worth a watch.

I never watched this show while it was on TV, but my wife did so I bought the series for her. It doesn't take long to really get into the show and see it's humor. Some episodes drag on, and the story is a little too "goodie two shoes" at times, but it is a wholesome show, with good family values and very entertaining.

As a counselor, I was looking for a film to share with a client in the hope that it would help him develop some insight. I was basically familiar with LaPaglia's work in "Without A Trace," where the character is a nurturing, grumpy, teddy bear sort of person, so I did wonder how he might translate into an abuser. Yikes. This is the most realistic study I've seen of the thinking and actions of an abusive person, the rationalization. His performance is powerful, extremely unsettling. Family court judges ought to require this film for every domestic abuse case they see, so people can see themselves. It might effect some change in them. Mary Stuart Masterson's character is fascinating also, true to life, brings out the impossible situation she's in when deciding what to do. A film that grabs your emotions and leaves you with the ... Once Upon a Time in Hollywood: From the Secret Files of Harry Pennypacker
Shadow Watcher
Nobody Drowns in Mineral Lake

Like his critically acclaimed THE SWEET HEREAFTER, this engrossing film from writer-director Atom Egoyan is a baffling low-key mystery with a surprising, equally quiet, ending.

Kevin Bacon and Colin Firth play a Martin & Lewis-like comedy team that, back in the 1950s, was one of the most successful acts in show business. Then, a beautiful woman was found dead in their hotel suite and, though nobody was ever charged in her death, the team broke up soon thereafter.

Jumping ahead to the 1970s, a young, attractive journalist (Alison Lohman) has a major book deal that will pay Firth a million dollars if he will talk about his relationship with Bacon and, in particular, ... Read More
