I hardly made it through this movie. I love Viggo Mortensen, and that's the only reason I stuck with it. The acting was sub par and left a LOT to be desired. Everyone was very monotone and inexpressive. The plot had the potential to be interesting, but wasn't followed through with. The soundtrack also was uninteresting and didn't really add to the film. If you want an interesting action movie, look elsewhere.

New interpretations of some classic Our Gang bits, a few cameos and decent production value. Its a fun little movie and the kids are fun to watch. They're poor actors, just like the originals, although the Spanky and Alfalfa that people remember from the late 30s were probably more polished than any of these kids.

My only complaint is the DVD edition seems to be the same edited version as the old VHS. There are a few gags that are either incomplete, or missing altogether, but you can kind of tell where they belong (like the gentlemen walking into the bank). There is also a funny extended trial scene that is much abbreviated in this version. I remember seeing the missing scenes on TV oddly enough. If they ever re-release this movie I hope it will be a more complete edit.

I have to admit that I was a little cautious about watching this movie because of some of the people who were suggesting that it would make such a powerful impact on my life. At the time many of the same people were keying in on the movie The Secret and I kept being told this was one of those movies that would "enlighten and change me." I am always cautious of such statements.

When I finally watched the Peaceful Warrior, I was blown away by both the simplicity and complexity of the messages that were interlaced throughout the storyline. I was pleasantly surprised by the uniqueness of the lessons that the movie teaches and equally surprised by how much the movie made me think afterward.

I would highly recommend this movie for anyone that needs a little inspiration ... Read More

If this movie has actually helped some people discover the Germs and the old school punk scene, then I guess that's a good thing.

BUT...

This movie has nothing to do with reality. Far from a realistic portrait, this film presents Darby Crash as a nice, but misunderstood kid who could just as easily have been a supporting character on "Dawson's Creek" and makes the L.A. punk scene look like an episode of "90210."

Read "Lexicon Devil" or watch "Decline of Western Civilization" as a contrast. Or just listen to the Germs. Just Darby's lyrics own their own illustrate the yawning chasm between who he really was and who Roger Grossman and Shane West make him out to have been. Even Don Bolles has dismissed the movie as worthless in interviews.

This film is a special take on the "we'll be friends forever" fantasy shared by most high school students. It is a disturbing film about group think, group feel, and group behavior. The peer pressure issue is taken to a new level. But the film also contrasts group with individual maturation. A well written script, well directed and acted. The cinematography reveals the characters in subtle ways. Viewers interested in psychology, sociology, and communication should find "Normal Adolescent Behavior" revealing and stimulating.

I was quite pleased with Universal Pictures' combination of 4 of their family films into one DVD package. It would've been even better if they had thrown in featurettes on the making of each film, but the quality presented here is fine.
"The Little Rascals" is a sheer delight. I was amazed with how well they recaptured the original spirit of the old "Our Gang" comedies. The casting was uncanny as these new, adorable kids strongly resemble their original counterparts. The story re-connects with the old storylines through familiar trappings: The go-cart race, Alfalfa's romance with Darla, his friendship with best pal Spanky, etc. And it's seasoned with cameos from "old pros": Mel Brooks, George Wendt, Darryl Hannah, Whoopi Goldberg, Donald Trump, Lea Thompson, and Reba McIntire.
"Casper" is my personal favorite, ... Read More
