This is in many ways not a very good movie. You have probably heard about how the movie was an absurd thing to begin with (five directors?) and how it blew up in production, and was pretty much thrown together.

Nonetheless, it's one of my favorite movies ever. I rarely watch a movie more than once, and I'm drawn to watch this from time to time. It's absurd, silly, and serious all at the same time. The first time you see it, your reaction is going to be more "Huh?" than "Wow!" but it sticks with you. A week later you'll laugh at something you remember. A month later, you'll remember something and grin. The next time you see a "serious" Bond movie, you'll think of some twist in it that was done much better in Casino Royale. After you've safely forgotten it, you'll be reminded of ... Read More

This is a really awesome funny movie! It's like Rob Schneider's version of 'Freaky Friday'! A popular girl who takes things for granted named Jessica steals some cursed earrings from a store in the mall while with her hot girl-friends. They go to a gas station that's being robbed by Clive Maxtone. Clive pretends to be the gas station employee. Somehow, she drops an earring and Clive finds it. The next day, Jessica finds out she's switched bodies with Clive. She tries to tell her best friend April about it, but she doesn't believe her at first. Throughout the movie, a lot of hilarious situations happen such as Jessica trying to use the restroom standing up, and getting her boyfriend to believe. Across town, Clive is in Jessica's body and taking advantage of the situation by becoming a stripper ... Read More

Excellent film/documentary on the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. A must see for history buffs and anyone wanting to know more about WWII and the Holocaust. Very moving and leaves the viewer with a deep admiration for the brave men and women that, while knowing they could not defeat the Nazis, still preferred to fight until death.

Sugar and Spice is a silly dark comedy but the cast does bring some marginal life to this film especially James Mardsen and Marley Shelton. Mena Suvari plays a cheerleader again! What's with this girl? get some range. Marla Sokoloff does her best b!%&h impression but the premise is pretty lame, these girls will do anything to get out of a bad situation, even rob a grocery store. The only thing I liked about this movie was the music, I regret watching this choppy mess.

After seeing the impressive and wonderful "Secondhand Lions," I was interested to see the director's other work. He mentioned "Dancer, Texas" in the Lions commentary, so I rented it recently.

This movie has a number of great performances by relative unknowns (at least at the time). "Dancer, Texas" stands or falls based on the four young men at its center, and all four of those actors turn in excellent and authentic performances.

"Dancer, Texas" doesn't fall into the typical Hollywood trap of overly-romanticizing the small town. Dancer has its attractions, but the movie doesn't hesitate to show us the squalor just outside town (Squirrel's trailer), the lack of jobs, and even the lack of available women. "Dancer, Texas" also doesn't fall into the other Hollywood trap of ... Read More

Yep, Alexandra Holden is beautiful! However, she's not the only reason to watch WISHCRAFT. The story is great, with many unexpected twists and gruesome turns. There's a lot going on that only makes sense at the end, and what an ending it is! Basic story: Highschool brainiac, Brett Bumpers (Michael Weston) pines for beauty queen / cheerleader, Samantha (Holden). One day, Brett receives a mysterious package containing a mummified bull's -(insert favorite euphamism here)-, which grants him 3 wishes. Brett makes his first wish, setting in motion a series of macabre, even murderous events. I was expecting just another SCREAM-ish formula movie, but instead, WISHCRAFT is unique and engrossing.
